Also happened across this place on a Monday night and was super impressed by the range of plates available on their ‘special’ night. Even though it was all $ 3pp, the Sashimi was fresh, and Wasabi hot. If only I lived nearby, this would be a regular.

4.5 stars. I’m surprised this location only got 3 stars. We came here on a Monday night happy hour($ 3 for everything on sushi train! nuts! 5pm-9pm). They had everything … gyozas, sashimi, kingfish and salmon, rolls of all sorts. This is definitely not $ 3 quality. It was fresh and AMAZEBALLS.

Zushi is one of those places you will either love or not(I love it). It really depends on what you order — some things are so unique and delicious and some are just average. My tips are the Dynamite Roll($ 6), Gyoza Inside Out Roll($ 15) and the Whiting Tempura($ 20). The Gyoza Inside Out Roll is part of the Zushi Signature Rolls menu, so if you’re tempted to try any of these, pop by between 6PM-7PM for ‘Kamikaze Hour’ which basically means half price. Be warned, the service can be slow but if you order any of the above, you’ll forgive it.

If you enjoy your Sushi when you don’t have to grab it off a train Zushi is a great option. This intimate restaurant on Victoria Street offers great food at reasonable prices. The lunch specials are excellent — there’s a $ 10 chef’s special which changes every day. Or you can go for the menu options, which include Donburi, bento boxes, Sashimi combo sets or lunch sets and all of them come with rice, salad and miso soup. There’s also an option to add 7 pieces of sashimi for just $ 5. When I went I opted for the teriyaki salmon with brown rice(you can choose between white and brown). It came with miso soup, seaweed salad and green tea — all for just $ 12. The food was good quality and the service was excellent. I couldn’t fault Zushi. Good food, good prices and nestled in the heart of Darlinghurst it’s a good spot to sit and watch the colour and life of the area walk past.
