Umm, how is this place 5 stars? I got the salt and pepper calamari special. What turned up is chips and fried supermarket calamari without either salt or pepper. Pretty disappointing!

I’ve been to Devonport a few times, but never really stopped to look around. From what I’d heard from Southern Tasmanians I was expecting a pretty bogan little city. So naturally I was really impressed by Valentino’s.
Well priced meals, made with tasty, fresh ingredients, served by friendly confident staff made for a comfortable and relaxed evening. Our entire group ordered pasta, and no one was disappointed.
Another bonus was the beer and wine list. It’s always good to see restaurants stocking local wines, but even better, local beers. I’m starting to get bored of the same limited beer list at every restaurant.
After this experience, I’m keen to get back to Devonport to try the rest of the best of Best Street!
