This was a great takeout experience. Quick, tasty and fresh! I devoured my fish teriyaki and Karrage side. My friend picked up the order and they seemed to have forgotten my miso but that can be excused as the food was good and the price excellent. Its a great local.

After eating here on numerous occasions over the last couple months I’m less convinced of my 5 star rating. While it is a handy location and the staff is nice I’m not blown away by the selection. No spicy salmon? No daily or weekly variety in your ready to go rolls? No shrimp tempura on the menu? Hmmm. While the prices of the rolls aren’t expensive they aren’t that fabulous considering how thin the rolls are. Yaaa. It’s good, but it’s not fabulous.

I am sad to say that my first visit will also likely be my last. I ordered 12 pieces tempura prawn, 12 pieces spicy chicken, and 6 veggie. The 12 spicy chicken and 6 of the tempura prawn were made fresh but the rest were pulled from the fridge. They honestly tasted like they had been sitting there since lunch and were completely inedible. The fresh ones were great though. The 12 spicy chicken that were made fresh were also missed when our order was made so we ended up waiting over 30 minutes in the very very small space. Maybe calling ahead, and requesting that they make ALL of your sushi fresh would have faired us better, but really you shouldn’t have to do that. There are so many great Japanese options in Perth that I just can’t justify spending my money here again.

I wish I knew how to say Halleluiah in Japanese, because I would be using it right now. My prayers for decent takeaway food near my new abode have been answered, with fresh, flavoursome, cheap Japanese food. I may never cook again. Just kidding. Anyway I almost shed a tear as I got stuck into my tempura udon on Friday night. After eating some serious crap from other takeaway joints in the area, it was such a relief to find their food so satisfyingly good. It’s a blessing to have found Tak E Sushi. My only wish is that the menu was a bit more extensive, but still very pleased to have found this place.

Supremely good sushi. Probably the best take away sushi I’ve had in Perth(I usually eat sushi at least once a day). Avocado reverse mini rolls with sesame seeds($ 3!) are absolutely amazing. Both the raw salmon and tuna($ 5.50 for 6 pieces) are always prepared well and seem to be sourced from a good supplier — you can see the fish fillets the sushi is being made from displayed right in front of you in the fridge and they look wonderful. Service has always been very cheerful and polite. Excellent, cheap and worth the travel from Mt Lawley if you feel like Sushi.

I was recently doing some relief work at a primary school. I got in for a later than usual start, having been called in at the last minute. One of the first things my boss for the day said to me was: «Have you brought your lunch with you?» I had, but I was peckish, so I ate most of it in the car on the way there. I simply replied with a no. Shock. Horror. She suddenly went in to a tizz. «My goodness. You’d better get yourself to the canteen quickly. I hope it’s not too late to order something», she fretted. I thought this was a ridiculous concept. Of course it wouldn’t be too late to order something. I’d simply get sushi. Once considered an exotic and unusual delicacy, now a staple on primary school menus. I got to the canteen and faced another shock, horror. I couldn’t order the sushi because it wouldn’t defrost in time. G-ross. Oh my God. Disgusting. I never thought sushi needed to defrost because I never thought it would be frozen! It made me ponder how many other pre-frozen sushi I’ve eaten — probably a good many. It’s lucky I’ve never encountered a stray icicle in my sushi travels. But don’t dismiss sushi completely. I can tell you with conviction that Tak E Sushi’s frozen sushi is an oxymoron. It doesn’t exist — because freezing sushi is a moronic idea anyway. Sushi is supposed to be fresh and good and tasty and divine and that’s why I come here. It was recommended by a family member who had it recommended to her. And, my goodness, it is sushi goodness personified. The shop itself is very quaint and about the size of a postage stamp. But the sushi is second to none, in Perth anyway. Absolutely divine.

Treat this as your sushi to go and you will be pleased. You wouldn’t eat here due to the tiny shop– even though the décor is pretty cool — if they had room it would be pretty inviting I reckon. The sushi is fresh and you can tell that it was made as you wait as opposed to early in the morning and sat in the fridge for 5 hours. I ordered the mini rolls and there were hundreds of them so it is great value for money. The sashimi hit the spot and the salmon was of good quality however the raw tuna was sightly tasteless. The Miso soup was good but then I don’t think I have had bad Miso soup ever. The service was quick even if the man was a little grumpy.

It’s an itty-bitty shop front, and even tinier inside; Tak’E has a floor space of literally 2×2, and thus serves as take-away only. The sushi here is SUPREMELY fresh. You can witness the friendly chef prepare sushi rolls from behind a sealed counter storing bright pink filets of fleshy, raw salmon. Mmmmm… I love their Tuna sushi rolls, they’re somehow just tastier than usual. There’s plenty of delicious tuna inside, without unwanted excess mayonnaise or rice. 6 pieces is $ 5.50 and Miso soup is half price($ 1) with any sushi roll. I added a seaweed salad with that for my dinner and the bill came to $ 10. I was sa-tis-fyyyedd. They do other things besides sushi; bento boxes, Donburi and Udon noodles, but I just can’t go past the sushi. It’s nothing crazy like ‘mango Thai chicken’ or ‘kiwi ice cream eel’, but damn, it’s just so fresh and cheap! Simple, fresh and cheap. Oh! Going back fo’ sho’!
