Livebait

Whilst in Melbourne had to eat at any restaurant on the «Docklands»; Livebait was the perfect venue and atmosphere. Kid friendly but still gave of that casual night life feel. The food was well portioned and staff were friendly and on point.

Stunningly picturesque at night, Livebait stretches out across the harbour and is lit up in a circular arc of golden light.
Livebait was developed by the hugely successful creators of Melbourne’s top restaurants Mecca and Mecca Bah, the menu is slightly Asian influenced and with a fresh seafood selection the food is nothing short of amazing!
Walking in we were greeted with friendly smiles and guided to our seats amidst the panoramic views of the CBD and Victoria harbour. Being a huge seafood lover myself I ordered the seafood platter — titled «The seafood feast,» for myself and partner complete with Moreton Bay bugs, Spencer Gulf prawns, scampi, scallops, oysters & green lip mussels. It came with a nice side salad and choice of zesty lemon tartare as well as sweet chilli dipping sauces. I also coulnd’t go past a bottle of thier recommended New Zealand Malborough Sauvignon Blanc, crisp, fruity and soft on the palate, needless to say this meal left me swimming with pleasure, pardon the pun!

A wonderful evening at Livebait, the décor is classy with glass to ceiling windows, beautiful view over the water. The food was good, seafood was fresh and cooked al dante. Dessert was divine.
