Nice location, good service and food but not outstanding. We had the Prawn with XO sauce, Black Cod in morin and Honey and Salt and Pepper Quail and finally the old favourite chicken and cashew — all really nice.

FANTASTIC!!! Chinese food fine dining at its best. If you don’t know what to order, choose anything from their banquet set. They are all nice. This is really hidden gem in Docklands. Delicious!!!

I think this may be the first time I have ever given a restaurant 5 starts on Unilocal.Everything at ManMo is of an exceptional quality; from the unparalleled music choices — sadly not Asian, but great nonetheless(features dynamic changes to the like of Mozart, Rob Dougan and Air), superlative views of the water at the docks, a fine taste of interior design, featuring candles and a dimly lit environment creating a soothing ambiance. Similarly, the food was fresh an delicious. The salt and pepper squid I ordered as an entrée was salty and presented exquisitely, and my Peking duck main was juicy and succulent. Interestingly with the Peking duck, they brought it all out for me to have a look it, and then they took it away again. I was suspicious at first, but then they returned with one piece. After I ate it, they immediately appeared with the second piece. They were keeping an eye on my consumption and preparing the pancakes for me just ate the moment I finished my previous one, in order to keep it as fresh and succulent as possible. The detail they put into this whole deal was quite amazing, and I was very satisfied with the customer service. The downsides? The mains didn’t come out at the same time. I know this is more of a Western tradition than anything else — but when a restaurant has deviated from its«no set mains /share all food» culture for a more Westernised style, you think they would attempt to bring out both the main courses as the same time. I also disappointingly had to ask twice for our tea, which didn’t arrive till our main courses. However, in general, I had a highly positive experience at Man Mo. Their subtleties of detail are unparalleled and unsurpassed. They even had a keen sense to when we finished a cup of tea, and immediately came to refill it. From their keen eye on my Peking duck to the toothpicks provided at the end of the meal to the hot towels: I cannot recommend Man Mo enough. On a final note, even the bathrooms here were of a high quality. Be sure to check them out.

Alright here’s the thing — you may not believe this but I’m not a massive fan of chinese cuisine. I do however really like Man Mo — good service, very nice décor that would suit a romantic date night as well; and great modern chinese cuisine. Man Mo is located at NewQuay, Docklands right off the footpath along the water. The restaurant is an open plan area offering a waiting a waiting area with comfy couches, a bar where you can grab drink while waiting and tables to accomodate small and large parties. There’s also seating outside overlooking the harbour, which is great for a warm summer night. The interior décor is very nice — statues of Man Cheung(God of Literature) & Kwan Yu(God of War). There are also writings on the glass panels affixed to the wall, giving a bit of background and history on Kwan Yu. The lighting is dim, which just contributes to the whole dining experience. Man Mo has a diverse food and drinks menu — the mocktail is a favourite for those on the right side of the booze law. Beer and wine(red and white) is also available. In regards to food, we love and always get the the seafood fried rice, chicken with cashew nuts, the basil chicken and a veggie dish. Oops, I got carried away and forgot the entrée! — Softshell crab and crispy calamari are pretty good. Those with a great appetite should give the banana fritter with ice cream a go for desert. So… If you are after a nice dining experience with a preference for modern chinese cuisine with a malaysian influence, in a very nice setting overlooking the water and away from the CBD — then give Man Mo a shot.
