Super cute café in double bay. I didn’t have lunch but wish I had of arrived earlier to do so as it looked delicious!!! There is a good mix of indoor and outdoor seating. And the staff is very friendly. I had an excellent latte. And then I ordered a chocolate fudge cupcake as I had exercised the night before it was delicious! Especially the icing! I have a thing for icing and that thing was fully satisfied by that chocolate fudge cupcake!!! A really nice spot in double bay that doesn’t feel so double bay If you like my review would love it if you would follow me on Instagram @theboutiqueadventurer

The food is good, and you will pay a high price for it. Small lunch portions will cost about $ 18-$ 20. Had the pesto chicken salad which hit the spot but would’ve been nicer with an additional side. Burrito was drenched in sauce & messy & small but — again — yummy. 3 stars because of how pricey it is & the lack of a personal vibe. Menu is short but changes regularly with a few standard items. This allows them to focus on quality meals instead of trying to do everything. Service is weak and slow but food is worth it. Indoor & outdoor seating available but best to take away since the store itself is quite plain and it is located a short couple of blocks away from 2 leafy green parks and Double Bay Beach/Wharf.

I only had a coffee here, but that was enough for me not to come back. The bland and insipid taste of my coffee was pretty underwhelming given the location. Prices do reflect the«exclusiveness» of the area, but equally exclusive(of the better coffees out there) is their coffee. Simonne Logue sells a range of salads, pies etc. also, and while the coffee has put me off to return to sample them, I don’t have much hope they’d be much better. There are a range of other cafes on nearby Knox Street and Bay Street. There’s nothing really that stands out at Simmone Logue that would make me return any time soon.

It seems only appropriate that Simmone Logus is positioned in Double Bay since this area has long had a reputation for quality and expense… Simmone Logue offers both catering and in-store foods, with a variety of high quality and top produce available to purchase(at a price of course). The menu is constantly changing but when i was there I tred the Tuna Nicoise Salad — Seared Fresh Tuna, Soft Boiled Egg, Green Beans and Potato. It was really quite delicious and i felt when I was eating it that I was doing something good for my body… They make a great cup of coffee and its worthwhile popping in to see if there is something that entices you on the menu…

I’d been to the Simmone Logue in Cammeray before I entered it’s sister café in Double Bay. I liked the first for it’s wholesome fresh food including it’s takeaway delights and the cakes — oh the cakes. There’s no question about the gourmet status on this cafes menu. But the Double Bay version is more ideally located. On corner of two relatively quiet streets(in comparison to Miller Street in Cammeray). It’s lighter, smaller and busier. I like that it doesn’t feel pretentious maintaining a cottage type décor inside. Highlights on the lunch menu are the Leek and Gruyère Quiche, rocket, avocado, and roasted tomato($ 15.50) and the Simmone Logue Home Made Pie with tomato relish($ 12.50). Speaking of pies you can take home packs of mini pies which are an ideal for kids at a fussy ‘stages’. They are semi-healthy(pastry is pastry right?) made fresh on site and beats the supermarket version that’s for sure. The vintage kids skipping ropes(selling for $ 30) in the left corner of the café are a nice touch.

If there is one thing you had to pick at the place, is has to be the Hummingbird cake with fresh mango and cream cheese. OMG. If this is ever available in the retail store you have to try it. Yummy! Simmone Logue has been around for ages and its well-known as a caterer. However I used to get my fix from its little retail store in Bondi Junction(no longer there) and now at Double Bay. The food is delicious albeit a bit pricey. I quite like their beef stroganoff when available. They have 2 cafes at Double Bay and Cammeray respectively. Try it out as the menu changes often with the season which ensures the food will always be at its best.

Simmone Logue in Double Bay is the original outpost for this well-known caterer’s fresh salads, homemade-style pies and delicious cakes. While the menu does change to accommodate for seasonal ingredients, there are a few go-to options I look out for while here for lunch or picking up something for dinner — the Asian noodle salad with steamed chicken, peanuts, coriander, shredded carrot and sesame oil dressing; the always-on-the-menu spinach and feta filo pastry pie; and to finish off, the moist orange and poppyseed cake. This café is forever busy, but if you can then try to grab one of the comfy outdoor banquette seats that line the giant windows.
