A good place to shop! Love the bargains and the sales, there is always something to find here. There are a variety of shops and upmarket places too… GAZMAN continually has sales and all the menswear shops had a huge sale for suits on the weekend… maybe because it was the Melbourne Cup today.
Ladies you will find this place a treat. Glamorous shoe, dress, tantalising underwear, makeup retail outlets are there to explore, You’ll buy something special there for the up and coming Christmas party.
Now if you are thinking of redecorating the table for Christmas or the New Year there are several kitchen places and fine china shops. White, crisp, linen table cloths, delicate wine glasses, gold trimmed napkins are there for example, table settings ready for the festive season.
Sit down with your bargains and have a quick coffee overlooking the incredible matches moored at the jetties.
Parking can be an issue. It is all undercover but can be very crowded.

Great for bargains! If you after a specific item you may be disappointed. This is where older or discontinued stock ends up!

Wow this place has changed since i was last here 25 years ago lol, it used to be where i would go to spend my pocket money, but it has now turned into a designer label paradise any fashionista would be excited to visit. With the first 3 hours free parking it should be enough time to put a dent in the bank balance.

I hate shopping, but this is the one place in Sydney where I can actually stand the experience. A good mix of super-​cheap and moderately cheap stores, some good food and drink and a lovely setting. If only it was still accessible by ferry!

Birkenhead has a large variety of outlet stores which offer good discounts off the retail price. I have always found something here every time I have come. They have stores catering to both men, women and kids with many of the large retail brands having stores here including Nike, country road, Nine West & many others.
This is a great shopping destination… Once you manage to get here! The traffic around the surrounding streets on the weekend is terrible to say the least. Once you are in, good luck getting a parking spot! There is limited parking in the tiny car park.
My tip is to avoid weekends if possible. If you do happen to come on a weekend then come early and avoid the masses of people.

I remember going to this place as a kid — it was different back then. For one, it was all open — like a little city of sorts. I remember Oracle Books and getting copies of Where’s Wally from there, and running through Flinders Mall like the hyper child I was. I remember browsing through joke books at the pop-​up store and feeding chips to seagulls on the marina. I remember plaster painting in the main court and wandering through the large pet shop they had on the ground level. It was so family and kid-​friendly with its rustic aesthetic, and I loved it.
Fast forward to now, and after about eight to ten years (!) worth of renovations, it’s reinvented itself as a bland middle-​class outlet centre specialising in — what else? — high-​end fashion. Sure, if you’re into that sort of thing you may as well have found yourself a new playground as it’s basically DFO by the water. But all the shop fronts and grey and plastered in photoshopped smouldering models that don’t seem so appealing or welcoming. The architects of the New Birkenhead even saw it fit to put in a skylight.
Let that sink in.
People would rather have a skylight than actual sky.
Okay then?
There’s only one thing that’s remained constant and that’s the beautiful marina, which is lovely for sitting down for a bite to eat … If you can manage to fight off some hungry seagulls.

Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre is on of my favourite shopping joints!
Located right on the water near the Iron Cove Bridge in Drummoyne.
Hours are from 10am — 5.30pm Monday — Friday, with the exception of Thursday nights they close at 7.30pm and 10am –6pm Saturday and Sundays.
They have high end labels down to moderate priced stores, including the David Jones outlet and a massive spotlight store.
Recently revamped the centre has more generous room to move including some new café’s and eating areas.
Parking can be a bit tedious but alas as usual get there early and you will not be disappointed.

Good place for a bargain. The parking is a bit of a problem, but it’s worth it if you like last years stuff at a good price.
They are forever fixing the place, Finnish already.

Others have spoken about the magical quality of this old Dunlop Factory of yesteryear, and the maze through which children (like me and other reviewers) ran amok, from the Lego Centre (as a kid, can you imagine? a WAREHOUSE of Lego, happy happy happy joy joy joy) to the paddy-​style market with the scary butchers sprucing their prices, aprons covered in fresh blood. I LOVED IT.
Time-​travel forward to 2013, and yes, I would perhaps venture to suggest that this is the most beautiful shopping centre in Sydney, if not Australia, based on location and views, and innovation in architecture. But.

PLEASE FINISH IT! ITS BEEN OVER 5 YEARS SINCE YOU BEGAN YOUR CAPITAL WORKS PROGRAM AND IT IS EMBARASSING!!!

I shop here for my weekly grocery hunt, I used to work here — twice, and I really lament the empty shop fronts, the appalling under-​investement in the food court (for 18 months there was only ONE fast-​food joint, the Turkish Gozleme place). The first-​hand experience I have with sloppy management leaves me with no doubts as to why this place is going to the dogs, and it is a shame. Why can’t you fill your store fronts with pop-​ups? why can’t you bring more quality brands to your factory-​outlet table, and why you have ostracised brands that were part of the Birkenhead Experience for over twenty years, forcing them to close, well… that is just criminal, considering the brands that you courted in their stead are steadily leaving your establishment or going bankrupt. Shame, Birko, shame.

It’s kind of like a small shopping centre, intimate, yet cheap!
Did I mention the cheap?
I always walk out of here with bags and bags of things that I possibly didn’t need but had to have at the time.
Well worth a visit if you love bargain shopping with brand names included.

Increasingly expanded, Birkenhead has a great range of clothes and general goods stores. Some factory outlet stores from Merrell, and a variety of other shoe stores attract the crowds. I think the one thing that would add to it would be a cinema or some good restaurant areas to make people come in for more than just shopping for the home.

Sydney’s largest discount shopping centre. It runs the range, but is largely clothing shops. Large, fills four levels. Some of the brands are pretty high end, too (e.g., Hugo Boss).
They offer 4 hours of free parking, and you can get last season’s best fashions for huge reductions. And the restaurant isn’t bad, either. Fill up that wardrobe!

A surprisingly pleasant experience … I am not a fan of outlet malls, which seem to stock large quantities of things I don’t want, or similarly large quantities of things I do want but in the wrong size or colour (even more frustrating).
Birkenhead Point though seems to actually have some stock that is useful … though I have to say that even the staff confess that the prices are not significantly different to what you’d find in the regular stores these days.
Also surprisingly easy to get to, for someone who is still discovering the joys of getting around Sydney.

I have a feeling Birkenhead is one of those places you visit when you need a particular kind of thing that is reasonably generic but not so vague that you get confused. I’m thinking undies, a suit for work or a black dress.
The sheer size of Birkenhead means that if you’re a committed shopper and determined to visit each and every store, you could easily get exhausted before you get anywhere. With a bit of a plan however, you can avoid drowning in the sea of stuff.
Sometimes you’ll get lucky and find a real treasure. Cue for example. send their samples here so occasionally you’ll find a piece that never went into production and you can score your very own one-​off.
For the most part however, Birkenhead is simply a mass of things that weren’t good enough to sell at full price.

Birkenhead is an awesome place to go shopping on a sunny day. You know those days which are just too gorgeous to spend inside a concrete box, but you just have to go shopping for something? Well Birkenhead is the place.
It underwent a renovation a few years back (its still going, slowly) so there is actually a glass roof so it’s not so bad in the rain, while still allowing maximum sun shine. This also means that there are more shops.
Most of the places are outlet stores, with the exception of the food court and fresh food places including Coles. Birkenhead has well organised stores so you aren’t rummaging through tables of clothes/​shoes, but you are saving money. Clothes may be a bit behind season wise, as these are the places that unsold stock goes to, but generally if you aren’t keeping up with the Joneses and want a bargain, this is the place.
Careful when you eat out near the water on the outside tables, as pigeons and seagulls rule and you are merely a ticket to their lunch.

When I was a kid, Birkenhead Point was a maze-​like structure, with shops at every turn and the prow of a ship facing Sydney Harbour. Invigorating stuff. Now, Birkenhead Point is an upmarket outlet centre, still with a labyrinth structure. In finding Roger David, I had more trouble than is expected for an adult who can read maps. The new Birkenhead Point has a glass ceiling and an amazing view of the Sydney CBD and the Harbour. This is a little embarrasing but it was actually a tiny bit breathtaking. *swoon*
The range of shops is OK (definition: not good, not bad, but acceptable) although there are very few stand outs to catch your eye. This is more of a pot luck type of place, where you have to come in with no expectations and just see what falls your way. Despite the surrounding natural beauty, I can see how this could be a little bit of a depressing place to be on an overcast day, particularly during the week, which finds it nearly deserted. For you, the shopper, however, make the most of this and enjoy the relative tranquility while you shop for chinos and boardshorts. Or whatever it is you do with your money.

Birkenhead Outlet centre is a shoppers paradise. You will find most brands offering discounts starting at 30 percent up to even ninety percent off.
Hugo Boss is clearly one of the most distinguished stores. Their quality is world class and their discounted prices make shopping there affordable and worth frequenting. All the popular international and local brands have an outlet here including David Jones.
Birkenhead centre is a beautiful open space building. It over looks the marina and I love sipping my Campos coffee on the waterfront. The food court has limited choice for Vegetarians however there is a Coles where you can get your grocery done.
Parking (an important issue for me) can be quite hard to find, so pull into the first vacant spot. Don’t bother trying to get to other levels, hoping to find a spot, it gets filled very quickly and early.

I recall, when I was younger, going on shopping expeditions to Birkenhead Outlet Centre. It seemed so far away, a magical, mystical place of reduced price tags and factory seconds.
A place where you could frolic about, getting lost and finding hessian pants that look kind of like the brown pants that Shaggy wears in Scooby Doo and because you want to be just like Shaggy, (Not a great role model I know.) you plead with your parents to buy you those hessian pants and then you go looking for a green t-​shirt.
The Kathmandu shop is particularly awesome with its huge range of things you might not need, but just to be safe you better have them, those camping trinkets that could be the difference behind life and mild discomfort. Those adaptable torches, the removable cooking top, that set of cups and cutlery that folds into so small a compartment that you can wear it in your gum boot.
I went to Birkenhead recently as I discovered that it is actually quite close in proximity to where i live now and where I lived before and I needed to grab some items for various Christmas presents and being the generous gift horse that I am, (Don’t look me in the mouth.) I went to a Factory Outlet. A lot of the shops were different, but the value was still there and most places seemed to be having sales, including the Kathmandu shop where I purchased some much needed thermal underwear. (Much needed is a gross overstatement.)
The shop where i bought those hessian pants that I pined for so longingly was still there and I cursed them, I cursed them for selling me the itchiest pants I’ve ever worn.

It’s no secret that Australian retail isn’t the most exciting industry. Since moving here, I’ve come to realize that variety is not Australia’s strong suit when it comes to shopping. Neither is bargain pricing. At Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre in Drummoyne, you can find dozens of name brand outlet stores, from clothing to house furnishings to jewelry.
I wasn’t too impressed with neither the range, nor quality of the stores. Most were Australian and American chains that I don’t wear, the exception being the Hugo Boss outlet (quite surprising to find here). While each store offered different sales, I saw discounts from 30% to 60%, which may seem significant, but I found even the sale prices to be more expensive than they would be in the US. I’m still getting used to the ridiculous prices for mediocre items here. So before you come here, check the store directory on their website. If you find brands you like, you’ll also be able to find better prices at Birkenhead Point.
The construction of the mall itself is interesting, because it’s situated within three walls and has a glass ceiling. This makes it one of the less frustrating malls I’ve been in (especially on a nice day) because it’s open and actually has a view of the Birkenhead Point Marina.

Who said the rich and the famous are not in the hunt for stylish products at a bargain? Each time I have been to Birkenhead point outlets, I have spotted at least one or two local celebrities. This time I spotted former vogue editor Robyn holt of renovators fame. And why wouldn’t you as Birkenhead Point offers the best of designer clothing, home wares and shoes at amazing prices.
It offers easy and convenient shopping with spectacular waterfront views of Ironcove and the best brand names in Sydney at the best prices possible. Its the perfect shopping destination with plenty or undercover parking and local cafes and restaurants.
I also enjoy the place from an architectural point of view for striking the perfect balance between open top shopping and the usual closed shopping areas. It’s a beautiful shopping experience just under 10 kms from the Sydney CBD. Happy shopping!
