A decent selection of wines and spirits, and a large coolroom with slabs makes Liquorland an easy choice for Drummoynicans wishing to imbibe the ambrosia of Olympus. The goon selection is a ripper too! And cheap.
The wine selection like most Liquorland stores is dull and boring, however there are some gems amongst the rough.
I do take issue with the pricing. I’m sick of the «By 3 get XX% off» promotions that Liquorland seem to be pushing on us all the time. Why not just some nice pricing for the one bottle of «X» which is what I usually go in for. X being a bottle of wine. Or if I’m feeling adventurous (or glum), some whisky.
Also a bit sick of this place closing before its time is up. I understand liquor accords and strict licensing arrangements. But closing half an hour before you are supposed to does make me a bit cheesed off on occasion. The staff are absolutely unknowledgeable about all things alcoholic. I wouldn’t trust them to tell me the difference between a claret and a bordeaux anyway. (!!!)
