We came here to catch up with a group of friends on a Thursday night. I booked a table for 16 plus 2 high chairs they day prior, they were very accommodating and put us over on the function side. It was a pretty casual dinner so we were just ordering when we felt like it and as people came, the waitress let us know that the meals wouldn’t all come out together if we did that which was fine. It was $ 15 rump night and most people got that, looked nice and everyone was satisfied. I got the chicken keiv special, it was nice but the crust was so hard to get through I really should have had a steak knife! They let everyone pay for what they had as they were leaving, it was nice not having to get the bill then split it etc

Typical suburban pub now serving wine in those glasses with a line on them that makes it look like the tide is out. I don’t mind the line, but I do take issue with the [more than one spot of] aged lipstick that aint mine on the rim…

Been here on a few occasions for dinner and a couple of times just for some catch up drinks. A group of us came for dinner last night(9 of us) — some of them had heard it was $ 15 Rib Night(Tuesday Night Special). On arrival we were greeted warmly by a friendly waitress and served promptly at the bar. Staff were attentive and took our orders when we were ready — food didn’t take long at all to come out(there were 9 of us) and everyone agreed it all looked good — 6 of them ordered the Ribs($ 15 for 500g or $ 20 for 1Kg) which came with chips & salad and they looked SOGOOD. The other 3 mains were just as enticing. To finish the night of we had coffee & cake. There is nothing pretentious about the Carine — it is what it is — a great local pub trying to get local patrons in. We will all be back again

Worst managed pub in th area. Overpriced food hit and miss. Beer is good when they don’t run out.

There was about 18 of us for lunch. The food came out fairly quick considering the quality of meals. Most of the staff were friendly, especially our waitress. Food orders were taken at the table but we needed to order and pay for drinks separately. I had the steak, it was average. It was quite chewy and had not been rested so there was ‘juice’ running all over my plate. My parter had the beer chicken and enjoyed it and most ppl said their food was ok. Apparently the salad was quite average. We had to ask for water after our table water ran out, they don’t seem to check after they’ve delivered meals. They don’t do individual billing which is really annoying, especially in a group this size.

One of those Perthified pubs in the ‘burbs that is just a bit same same really. Food and staff were nice enough. Also on the upside is the big fun playground they have fenced off to keep the rugrats safe(they also have that stuff that means kids will bounce if they fall off the equipment — handy). But it is hardly a destination or a stand out pub in my eyes. And I got a nosebleed heading so far north to frequent it.

Would no way recommend this place. Came here with my family for a counter lunch on a Sunday as my mum & dad live around the corner. We wanted a pub where we could watch the footy — they have it on the big screens but there is no sound. It was a very, very long wait for what we ordered. We waited for over 45 minutes to get our lunch and the place wasn’t even busy. When the food came out, the chips were cold. It’s very typical of an ALH venue — nicely renovated but bad service & just average food.

Our whole family went last Monday evening I must say the service was outstanding. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and the food was first class from the variety of dishes we ordered(including the kid free meal option available on Mondays). The meals are well priced, the atmosphere is good, clean and modern and we will certainly visit again — probably next Monday :)

The last time I ate at the Carine it was a family owned tavern, winning gold plates for its food. A few years later and now owned by one of the large multinationals, whats it like? The eating area is still the same, minus the tablecloths. The menu is a lot smaller and built mainly on different cuts of steak and a choice of three sauces. The special was a rump steak with garlic prawns on top $ 27.00. All up, it is what it is, a pub selling pub food at pub prices.

I always find the Carine Tavern a bit disappointing. It’s in a virtually crappy location where nothing else of any notable interest ever occurs yet the staff and the people in here have a pretentious vibe like you are intruding on some place important. The dark tones of the walls and furniture are trying too hard to make the place look up market when the giant TAB section is a total juxtaposition. I do like the outside area though when it is not crowded and it does get really crowded. The shrieks of the illiterate sluts inside and the tough tattooed guys in Ripcurl collared shirts it really is just too much to handle. Back to the outside area once you get past the time when the birds in the trees in the park across the road stop shrieking it is pretty peaceful and probably the best thing that the Carine has to offer.

I was happily suprised when I went to the Carine Tavern. Tavs to me always sound like they’ll be a little dingier, sticky floors, worn out furniture and crazy locals. But when I went to the Carine Tavern, it was not like that at all. It seems like a pretty new building, and has a good amount of seating where you can enjoy your food and sit with friends while you watch a performance on the stage. The bar is pretty large and wraps around from the seating area, through the bar stool and table standing area round to the betting area where people watch the dogs and horses race. The place is quite large, you don’t feel cramped in at all and the furnishings are nice, comfortable and modern. The outside seating area is also really nice, large cushioned seats and tables on decking with trees centred in the middle. The age of people coming is quite a mix, when I went there seemed to be a young crowd, the recently turned 18 it seemed, but it was a good vibe not rowdy or annoying just a place to hang out and have some bevvy’s. It’s a good place to come for a drink some amazing $ 5 squid tapas and perhaps enjoy some local entertainment!

I haven’t been into the Carine Glades Tavern proper. I like taverns in the middle of nowhere, on main roads, because of the sort of clientele they attract. I like truckers and their stories. They remind me of Tennessee and Mississippi. I like sad businessmen on their way home to the suburbs. They remind me of Billy Joel’s Piano Man. But I haven’t been into the Carine Glades Tavern proper. But I sure like its bottle shop. It’s small, but it’s well-stocked. And when I say well, I mean with bottles that are of an almost consistently high standard. Even the cheapest bottles are good, and while the prices across the board a little higher than they perhaps should be, and while Western Australia is perhaps overrepresented, in general it’s a really solid little go-to. It’s also one of the only places I know that always has my favourite Vasse Felix white on hand. Which is one more reason it gets my vote.

The Carine Pub is nice enough, it has the exact same generic fit out as all the other recently opened or refurbished suburban pubs in the last 10 years, sleek looking with very little character. The demographic is largely over 30s and often young families in the daytime. There is usually live music or a dj on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. There’s heaps of free parking to take advantage of right out the front. There is decent food available at the bar so you can enjoy your chips & aioli out in the courtyard.
