The Café was very quite which is unusual for the area. Maybe it’s because the food is pretty ordinary. We ordered raisin toast which came as Turkish toast with raisins a bit strange and not what we would expect. The staff didn’t mention or was offered as a alternative option to normal raisin toast. Our order wasn’t even correct as our coffees were supposed to be flat whites and they were cappuccinos that were delivered.

The shopping centre at Round Corner Dural is a collection of shops built around the bend in the road. Several developers have had a go at building shops so that now it is a hodge podge of individual groups of shops with Woolworths at its heart. The newer shops fan out like petals on a flower around the older ones and Café Leon is right on the outer limits. Café Leon is interesting, several months ago it was a straight gift shop, now it is a coffee shop/gallery/gift shop. I went in for the first time today and I was pleased with what I saw. I had a great lunch and I spoke to the owner — I was the only customer for several minutes. I asked about the amazing array of gifts: ladies handbags, beautiful art glass, costume jewelery, Australiana and a weird collection of clocks. Some things were on consignment, others were for sale. It was strange having lunch in a coffee shop with all this gear around me but it was very interesting. The food was great, the coffee was hot and the service friendly. By the way, their melts are made on Turkish bread and they do a ‘ladies’(half size) version.
