You’ll wait forever for overpriced meals. Eat elsewhere. The location isn’t great there’s no food in walking distance, stay elsewhere. Melbourne is full of cool and this has none of it.

Not too bad overall all, but could be better for the price. Hotel service left rubbish on the floor in the bedroom. The spa pool wasn’t working for a few days. But the rooms were a good size and the location is good.

I’m rating this place as a 3 star not cause it’s bad but I certainly think it should be the standard for mid range accommodation. I loved my stay here in the apartment. Originally I was on the top floor overlooking the city and entertainment centers for tennis etc. The penthouse if u will. But the noise of the trains made me opt for an apartment in the bottom floor at the front. Good choice if u are a lighter sleeper. Just some road noise to contend with and no waiting for elevators. Choice! The room was clean, tidy and spacious enough to feel comfortable. The beds were not the most comfortable but doable. The kitchenette had an older oven but functioned ok. The fridge froze my foods but mostly fine anyway. Bathroom was clean and tidy… Just a small no no… Wet towels hanging up instead of dry ones. Strange but correctable. Small things were not the best but well with in tolerable. Would I stay there again? Sure I would. Good price and a short walk to both tram and train made it easy to get about. Friendly staff and water and free apples at reception. :) I like it!

Really disappointing. The only thing this hotel has going for it is it’s proximity to the MCG, Rod Laver Arena and AAMI Park, but frankly I’d rather pay for a cab to a better hotel. Firstly, my room backed onto the lift so all I could hear the lift moving all night. Spoke to management about it, they said ‘nothing we can do’. Then, the air conditioner sounded like a freight train. Hard to believe that in this day and age there can be such primitive air con in a modern hotel. Finally, ordered breakfast from room service. It arrived, but no cutlery and none in the cupboard in the room. By the time I got cutlery, breakfast was cold. Couldn’t be bothered talking to them about it, just wanted to check out and go. I travel to Melbourne at least 6 times a year. I will not return to Mantra on Jolimont or recommend it to friends and colleagues. Again, really disappointing.

Hotel staff are friendly but the rooms need a good update. The air conditioner in my room didn’t work, the shower head was broken, toilet roll holder was broken, huge amount of water damage to the bathroom walls where paint was coming off with rust showing thru and there was one pillow on the bed! Probably wouldn’t stay here again. But the location to the Aus Open was good!
