My favourite sushi place by far. It gets extremely busy though so I tend to go and buy before the lunchtime crowd hits. Staff are really friendly, serving sizes and prices are on par with everywhere else. It does hot food including spring rolls and meals. Recommend it if you’re in the area.

From the outside, this place does not look like much. It reminds me of a small town café, but don’t judge a book by its cover because despite its boring décor and kitout, they serve up some cheap and cheerful Japanese food ready in minutes. The office workers lunch rush gets a bit hectic, but its nothing that Sushi on Royal can’t handle. With a range of sushi, sashimi, rice paper rolls plus hot dishes of curries, bento boxes, and everyone’s favourite chicken teriyaki, there is a little taste of Japan for everyone. Free wifi and now brown rice sushi for only 50c more, this place is a bargain!

I try to limit my visits here to once a week otherwise I would come every day for lunch. The food is really cheap. I always get the chicken and avocado sushi and if it’s sold out they will make a fresh one for you. The staff are super friendly and always remember my order. Sometimes I will stray from my usual and try other dishes which for the price always please me :)

This place is great if you want a nice healthy lunch but aren’t prepared to pay an arm and a leg to get it They have a large fridge stocked with freshly made sushi rolls, sashimi salad, and chicken seaweed or tuna salads. I have tried a few of the cooked meals before and although they haven’t been the best, for the price they are okay. I would definitely recommend getting the sushi though. You can get a meal & a drink for under $ 10 and these days in Perth, especially East Perth this is a rarity. The staff there are also so friendly, one day I visited and forgot my wallet in the office, they happily told me I could come by the next day and pay for my meal as they recognised me. A very small gesture but very much appreciated. Thanks sushi on royal for making my work days a little nicer :)

This popular little Japanese joint on Royal Street often has a line almost out the door. The sushi I had was super fresh. I haven’t tried any of the hot meals yet, but they seem very popular with the regular customers.

My colleagues and I often choose to get our lunch from Sushi On Royal where you can see them making the rolls fresh and keeping the counter fridge loaded up with lots of yummy choices along with one of my favourite Fish Katsu. The service is very good and polite considering how busy they get with the queue sometimes almost out the door! They recently thanked me for waiting when they took about two minutes longer than usual for my order. It makes a big difference just to be acknowledged in this situation as other places I have experienced no care at all(Daily Planet I’m talking about you).

Lunch at this place is very nice, it does get very busy during usual lunch hours so order over the phone to save waiting in the place, very well priced, I would recommend the teriyaki chicken burger with chips. I have heard the Katsu Chicken at this place is very nice as well, the service is nice friendly and fast.

I like this place because their sushi rolls are a the perfect size. 2-bites and they’re down the hatch(like when your mum used to chop up your dinner into chewable pieces). I often find sushi rolls too large for a mouthful but these ones handle well. Trivial I know, but in this case size matters for me! f you’re a heavyweight, you probably don’t have this trouble, and may feel a bit jipped. For a wee lass like myself however, you will joy in the fun-sized sushi. Aside from size, they’re fresh, tasty and cheap too. $ 6 gets you 6 pieces of Vegetarian or Tuna and Avocado rolls. This place packs out at lunch time with office workers so get down early to beat the rush, especially if you’re ordering something form the kitchen.
