I have to say that after reading all of the positive reviews about this shop I was eager to try them out, which i recently got a chance to. I wish I hadn’t as my experience was less that stellar. First off, askew for a piece of snapper and what I got looked about the size of a large whiting, and thin was definitely not worth 8.50. I also ordered 5 x squid rings, now I love squid rigs and they are often the item that most fish and chip shops stuff up, as they can go from under to over cooked I’m under 20 seconds. These ones were a lite over, but the thing that really pissed me off was that they were cut so thin it’s a wonder they weren’t rubber when I ate them. Good chips though. Not sure if I’ll give this place another go though might try a kebab from next door :-(

This place is amazing! I mean i know its just fish and chips but for my hubby who has selftitled himself as the fish shop whisperer, its pretty damn good. The wait was only like 15 minutes but so worth the wait. The décor inside was really cool too and it felt… clean. not to say most arent but this place really did have a good vibe just walkinh in! We have now found our new source for fish and chips!

Slippery Eel has THE best fish and chips in Ellenbrook. The serving sizes are generous and great value. We order a couple times a month and its very rare that we have any problems with our order. Although it pays to ring ahead to order because the wait can be up to 45 mins.

Slippery Eel is our local fish and chip shop that never fails to deliver. We would average 3 – 4 orders a month. We can always depend on them. They are consistently good. Very affordable, never greasy or oily, portion sizes a spot on and the staff are lovely. Love a good fish and chips and my local is my bench mark to compare all other fish and chips. So far I haven’t had one as good as the Slippery Eel. I can’t recommend them enough as a local fish and chip shop.
