If you’re a non-smoker that gets easily irritated with cigarette smell than I highly recommend avoiding this venue. It reminded me of an old Las Vegas casino. It’s self-order so you’ll need to make you’re way to the bar for drinks and to the bistro register to order from the menu. The food was decent, I wasn’t disappointed. We ordered the roast of the day(pork) and the meat lasagne at fairly reasonable prices. It was the ambience that was lacking for me.

The Linc is a well known hotel in Essendon. The spacious bistro is popular with locals and caters to all groups, large and small, there were several families dining there. The bistro and bar staff are friendly and appeared to know the regulars. My partner & I were more than happy with our meals of Atlantic Salmon & Veal Milanese and would return for dinner when in the Essendon area.

I found this pub when I was on my way to an engagement party one Saturday, though because I had to go to the party I couldn’t suddenly change my plans and go inside. Mind you, when I left to go home a couple of friends asked me if I wanted a lift, to which I politely declined explaining that there was a pub that I discovered that I hadn’t had a beer in as yet — being this pub. Well, there isn’t all that much that really stood out about this pub though — it is what you would expect from a suburban pub. There was a TAB, pokies, and a restaurant, as well as an outdoor area out the back, which was full of smokers(which doesn’t make it a really enjoyable experience if you are not a smoker, and I would hesitate to call it a beer garden). The pub itself wasn’t bad, but it is certainly not one that I would travel all the way out to Essendon just to visit.

The Linc is a great place, with a sports bar, public bar and bistro restaurant to keep the punters entertained. Fantastic food, including some of the best salt and pepper calamari in the state. Roast, soup and other specials on every day. Quiz night on Tuesday, over 28’s night on the first Saturday of every month, TAB, multiple sports screens in the public bar and a genuine mixed entertainmet venue. The Linc has a bunch of pokies, and keeps them open until 3am.
