Atelier Claire Taylor

Atelier is the store owned by Clare Taylor, a very talented silversmith who makes some of the most original and interesting pieces of jewellery that I have seen in Melbourne.
The jewellery on display at Atelier crosses over into art. The pieces are truly original, have exquisite textures and are minimal and elegant. I adore jewellery and I think that Clare’s rings are divine — there are a few that I had my eye on, including some with leaf prints and other organic patterns.
There was also a ring with an owl print that I fell in love with, and I’m waiting for my next payday to rush back and get it.
The space is open and comfortable; most of the pieces are in cabinets so feel free to ask for some assistance if you want to try something on.
Clare is helpful and friendly and more than happy for you to have a look around and admire her work.

Claire Taylor has been noodling around with silver and metalwork for a little while now so she knows what she’s doing. If you like the sort of jewellery that is subtle yet stand out (you know, when you look at something and then it really pops when you see the detail?) then Atelier is a good place to go shopping.
I love the sort of jewellery that doesn’t try to overpower your clothes, just ads a little class with a quirk. Claire Taylor knows how to do this. Natural elements pepper her work along with collecting a little tumbleweed of memories, and integrating that into a piece of silver or metal. Some gorgeous pieces that won’t scream for your attention, but gently call for it. Much more enticing. Plus it has a long shelf life than those pieces that reveal all their secrets in the first five minutes.
