I had read about an exhibition at the Colour Factory in InTrouble magazine. I hadn’t heard of the gallery before and so when I was in Fitzroy looking at galleries I tried to find it amongst the back streets. I thought that I might be wasting my time because it looked so much like a factory and all the advertising for «colour reproductions» made me wonder what I was going to look at.
The Colour Factory is a business producing various types of high quality prints, but there was a white walled gallery adjacent to the factory’s office space. Their gallery is part of their interest in museum quality photographic art.
The gallery, unsurprisingly, specializes in photo-​based art and has regular exhibitions. This is a serious gallery that represents photographers as fine artists. The time that I visited there was an exhibition by Christopher Tovo «Italia Mia».
