Why do they always put mirrors in studios? Why?!
Ok i get it, once you reach a certain level you need to perfect your dance routines. But dammit when you are first getting started, you do not want that mirror there. It’s often the case that you catch a glimpse of that uncoordinated person flailing their arms around like they’re trying to take off, before sadly realising you’re looking at yourself (luckily I’m short sighted, so only can see a blur).
These studios have a whole range of different dance classes from Zumba to Raggaton to Jazz. I tried the Zumba class tonight (at the beginners cost of $ 30 for 3 classes) and although sceptical to begin with I secretly did enjoy it (make sure you keep that between you and me). The instructor, Annabella was full of energy and seemed to really enjoy showing off her moves for us to follow. My only gripe with the class was that after every song she had to run to her Ipod to find the next track to put on. (Could she not have made a playlist?!)

So you think you can’t dance? Well, they say the first step is recognising that you have a problem. The next step is getting the right kind of help. With over 20 dance styles to choose from look no further than Fusion to help you get at least one of your two left feet making the right moves.
Most classes are suitable for all levels so don’t be afraid to get down and get funky, but perhaps not during the contemporary ballet class. If, like me, you’re fond of shaking it all about, reggaeton or belly dancing might be your thing. The African dance class is a must-​try is you’re keen on live drumming accompaniment. Or make like Kate Moss in a White Stripes video and sign up for a pole dance course. Poles are provided, but you’ll have to brave the little shorts and massive stripper heels to truly look the part.
Each of the six dance studios are modern, clean, well-​lit and feature full length mirrors. The teachers are top-​notch with varying degrees of experience, and at $ 15 for a casual class, there can be no finer way to express yourself.
