All right, an old school video game palour that is also a bar. I remember coming to places like this when I was much younger, but they never sold beer. In fact when I first discovered this place I said to myself ‘only in Melbourne’ until an old school friend of mine pointed out to me that they also have one in Canberra. Seriously, back when I was a snotty nosed teenager I never imagined that you could go into a video game arcade and order a pint of beer — but now, in 2015, you can. Not only do they have a heap of old school video games, but they also have a pinball room out the back, and a restaurant upstairs, however there are only two things that will keep me coming back — Pacman and beer.

It’s all there in the name — if you’re a fan of old school video games, especially with a joystick in one hand a drink in the other — then this place will greet you with a nostalgic hug. There’s not a whole ton of machines but people are there to just have a game or two then return to their conversations so you don’t have to wait long to revisit an old favourite. You get a surprisingly amount of games too for your $ 1 or $ 2 — not one of these places with the one token machine where $ 2 will get you one chance to help Frogger across the road but that’s it. You also get a free token to spend with a pint of the house beer, which is pretty perfect! Only stuck my head upstairs but they had a faux-outdoor setting complete with food truck that we will be sure to try next time we’re in here battling some space aliens or giant angry gorillas.
