They stay open to around 9:30 on weekdays, so as long as you get there by then you can take part in this gestational delight. Tuesday night, not a single sole here, but it was also 110 degrees outside so perhaps many people skipped eating that day. Kind servers, informative, clean space, parking across the street in a lot. Everything was super delicious, much like Afghani good I’ve had in New York. Be adventurous, and try a little of a lot of things.

Came here on Saturday night without a reservation — pro tip #1 — this place is extremely popular and you should make a reservation. Luckily we were only two and happy to sit at the«bar» type table at the front entrance. Afghan Cuisine is everything you’d imagine it to be based on its geographical location. I would describe it as a mix between Indian and Arabic food. I am of the opinion that«there is no such thing as too spicy», and the dishes we ordered had a little bite to them. So for someone who doesn’t like spicy foods or is unaccustomed to it… you’ve been warned! If I could even detect the spice, it’ll probably knock your socks off. My entrée was fantastic, I ordered dumplings with meat in them(sorry, I forgot the name!) and we shared two mains, which were both good, but nothing particularly remarkable. Spicy, meaty, saucy dishes. The naan that came out was freshly cooked and I just couldn’t resist eating it, much to the detriment of my gut later, since I’ve been gluten free for over a year(except when freshly baked naan is served to me, apparently). The major minus was that the mains took FOREVER to come out. Every table was waiting at least 45 minutes, probably closer to an hour or over. Don’t know if it was a bad night or they were understaffed, or what, but that sucked. I would go back and order the dumplings again and try different mains… My mother was disappointed that I went there, because I was supposed to try Bamiyan with her and our neighbour! I completely forgot. So I may well find myself back here again sometime soon.
