Bower Bar. Hmm, yeah, not really a fan. If I want to be crammed into a small area with very little dancing space and a tiny doorway to escape out of, I’ll just stay in my room. Even the smoking area is a tightly packed battle of who can secure the coveted corner that gives you a limited around of swivel room. Without trying to be overly harsh, I just find Bowler Bar boring. It doesn’t really have anything to keep you there. It’s small, and not exceedingly special. The reason I went in the first place was because it was new at the time, and who doesn’t want to check out a new venue? But it just hasn’t won me over. I didn’t stay for very long because I got bored. It’s that simple.

As a 20 year old student I feel I can adequately review Bowler Bar, one of the newer places to go in the Valley, the Bowler Bar has tapped into the hipster/indie scene and really run with it. If you’re looking for a night out with some well-dressed and very drunk kids then really look no further than here. When I say kids I really do mean it, the average age will be around 18 – 21 years old. But that shouldn’t stop you if you’re really looking to party seriously hard. The dance floor goes off on Fridays and Saturdays with a large array of events from local live bands to international DJ’s. If it’s your first time in Brisbane and your looking to sample what a 4am Valley dance floor can be like, I can’t recommend a place more than this. Be aware that nobody you meet will remember you though, its tradition to be completely written off at Bowler. It’s a tradition you should embrace with open arms or at least appreciate from the sidelines. Also be aware that you will be in the presence of some of the most attract women in Brisbane, so dress the part.
