Delfina’s Bistro

Located in the Emporium complex, this spacious and relaxed/​comfortable place is the corner unit. This means a wrap around cushioned bench that is full of pillows, in front of which are set tables. I had a great time and the food was delicious and creative. I especially enjoy that the menu changes. Gives you a chance to go repeatedly and have a different experience. Can’t wait to return.

Only 1 week old Delfina’s Bistro located in Brisbane’s stylish Emporium precinct, at the site of the old Freestyle dessert bar, isone new biz that really impressed us today. With our mums being interstate, in hindsight it’s like as if fate stepped in & directed
us to this wonderful place. Not only is Delfina’s Bistro serving up beautiful modern Aussie cuisine with a French-​European twist (thanks to Chef Matt’s wealth of experience), the concept of Delfina’s Bistro is actually centred on memories of family & togetherness.
It is named after the owner’s grandmother Delfina, & the back room of the restaurant is adorned with picture frames of the restaurant staff’s own grand-​parents. Delfina’s Bistro is about creating memories with your family & friends, in elegant surrounds, over a great meal & a glass of wine & we couldn’t have picked a more perfect place to have spent this special day. The owners of Delfina’s Bistro have run a successful events management & catering business for many years, & with Chef Matt at the helm (having experience from renowned 3-​hatted Vue De Monde in Melbourne), it was the right time for Delfina’s Bistro.
The menu is sectioned into Starters ($ 3.50-$ 12). Sides ($ 12).Entrees ($ 16-​$ 19). Mains ($ 29-​$ 55). Desserts ($ 16). Cheeses ($ 8 from Australia, Spain & Italy).
The wine list is predominantly Australian, with some from Spain & there’s an enticing cocktail list as well. We decided to start off with some coffee, & Delfina’s Bistro house blend from roasters Dramanti (in Wynnum), was actually right on the money, for an afternoon coffee, (with hints of berries, possibly Ethiopian).
We decided on the Delfina’s Bistro Mother’s Day lunch special ($ 65pp), which was 3-​courses, including a glass of Cava (Spanish sparkling wine).
Entrees
(1) Oxtail Tortellini, parsnip, morels, kale ($ 16).
(2) Scallops, ham-​hock terrine, pea purée, broad beans & consommé ($ 17).
Mains
(3)Beef fillet cheek, wagyu brisket, baby beetroot, marrow, bresaola, jus ($ 35).
(4)Pork Belly, blackened carrot, walnut, sweet onion jus ($ 34).
Lost for words really, in all honesty. From the Oxtail Tortellini, the Scallops, the Beef dish, the Pork belly, all were just delicous & perfect. And it wasn’t the Cava getting to our heads either.
Next up & for the final course, was dessert! Delfina’s Bistro doesn’t make it easy, as everything sounds so enticing, but in the end we decided to try the:
(1) Chocolate Fondant, peanut brittle, malt, milk ($ 16)
(2) Bread pudding, dates, brown butter, salted caramel ice cream ($ 16).
Wow! Absolutely devine; everything a dessert should be, well presented & just Yum!
Delfina’s Bistro is definitely a perfect location for a long lunch or an exquisite dinner experience, with great service, so add this to your list of places to try!
