Being an American in Brisbane I get homesick sometimes, food always brings me back. These cheesesteaks were very tasty, albeit kind of expensive for the small size of the sandwich. Although they are a bit more expensive than I’m used to, I’ll definitely be back due to the delicious flavor. The fries(chips) were also very delicious.

PJ’s Steaks is a small venue that makes American Philly cheesesteak subs(thinly sliced steak and onion with melted cheese on a sub). They have a variety of cheeses for you to select(I usually choose the stinky/strong ones), American soft drinks and the meals are prepared fresh. The other day I tried the Original Cheesesteak as part of the weekday lunch special. It was good but the Original only has steak, cheese and onion in it so I much prefer the Pepper Cheesesteak(my usual choice) or the Mushroom Cheesesteak, which have a few more ingredients.

Fresh made Philly steaks is what this place is all about. The guys told me they make everything to order so it seemed promising. I ordered the original with provolone cheese and I have to say it was way too salty for me to finish. I haven’t had a Philly steak in the USA so this might be 100% authentic, but for me it was over the top. I recommend ordering a coke to wash this sucker down. I kinda wish I’d have gone for the chicken hoagie instead of the Philly steak, but when in Rome. Nice fitout and good selection on the menu… Only if your a carnivore that is. Vegetarians stay away!
