Fremantle is generally a place I train to, simply because I hate having to watch the time and stress about expired meters and diligent parking inspectors. E shed is the answer to all parking concerns. Depending on how far you plan to head into Freo, if you’re staying around the business district everything is easy walking distance and for the sake of peace of mind– it’s a done deal. Just across the rail way tracks the parking covers several bays overlooking the water(and Rottnest Island) and while there isn’t a lot of shade on hand you can get a few spots just next to the cafes and boat terminal that help out a little. My advice, put up your windscreen visor and stroll down easy street. Towards the end of the day(when the inspectors are winding up) if you’re still kicking on, consider moving the car closer to where you are but for the most part, this is a hassle free, safe and secure parking spot. E shed parking is how you do it!

Parking in Fremantle is a slight nightmare, there are a fair few car parks, but by about 9am they are full, the Wilson multi– story car park is nice and expensive, street parking is for a limited time only and costs an arm and a leg, again if you’re lucky enough to get it. The best solution(aside from the train) is the E shed car park. Located right next to the markets at the harbour and down the road from the train station, this is a large car park where you will always find a space(even on a public holiday this would be your best bet!) The section closest to the exit is for short stay and then towards the back is for all day. Now for the best bit, prices may have risen slightly over the past few years but only slightly, it’s $ 6 for a whole day, no I’m not joking. Paying for parking in Perth is a bit of a joke and tends to drain the bank account quite unnecessarily, but at E Shed you can park your car in a safe area, on the cheap, near the town centre, no stress. This is a big top tip so watch who you tell, and you can thank me later for saving you enough dollars to grab a coffee from one of Fremantle’s acclaimed cafes, rather than on parking your car!
