When first walking into this hostel, you would think it’s really cool! Great vibes– everyone is super sweet, lobby is loaded w/​free wifi, with a ping pong table, video games, a bar, and great music. However, after we had a reservation, they still put us in a room with 8 people in total. Rooms were trashed and disgusting– so unclean and quite frankly, we did not feel comfortable so we found a hotel. It was pretty bad.
However, if fine with staying there, they are SUPER accommodating. The manager refunded us our full money and was very sweet. If you are okay and merely looking for a place to lay your head, I guess this was okay.

I did some research before booking in my brief back packing stint in Freo while I found my feet and noticed that while the Sun dancer has a lot of raving reviews, they were fully booked out for weeks at a time.
This makes them not very suitable for last minute jet setters such as myself. When I called the English chic (I wonder if all English backpackers do is get jobs in hostels and pubs or if everyone that works there has to put on an English or Irish accent?) that answered was informative, but not very warm or empathetic– «oh you want to book in tomorrow, right well we’re fully booked until next Wednesday and then there’s one bed for two nights in a 6 share dorm, so do you want that one?»
No wonder people rave about staying there for months at a time, they’re probably scared to leave in case they can’t come back! No dancing on the sun for me here!
