Quirky and fun. Serves great coffee and sometimes there’s music on weekends. Saturday mornings may bring a crowd from nearby netball — time your visit carefully! :)

Looking for something different and found this unique café thanks to other Unilocal reviewers. Coffee not great but they are looking for new gun barrista. My dish was delish but hubbys BLT was over powered by beetroot. It is very hippy like but I enjoyed it. My dish had nectarine pistachio nuts pomegranate feta and salad. See photo.

My good friends have been coming here for awhile and we set up a breakfast for a Saturday morning and it just so happened to be the same week that they got some fantastic publicity rating them one of the top 5(or 10) best hidden gems of Perth. If it were my business and this had just happened I would have made sure I was super organised and maybe put on an extra staff member or 2 even. I dunno, that’s what I would have done. There were 8 of us at the table and everyone got their breakfast 55minutes before me and the other half got ours. That all being said the food and coffee was great. I had the big breakfast, coffee and a pressed juice. Everyone else food looked fantastic as well. It’s a very relaxed lazy sunday kind of feel about it almost a country town café vibe. Would I go back, YES! The staff are so friendly and food yummy in fat jimmy tummy

The Cool Room is tucked away in the Eastern part of Fremantle on Holland Street. Located next to an old vintage and recycled goods store, this unassuming café is quite delightful. Firstly, their coffee is great and they offer a simple yet refreshing fresh juices. Next, their food menu offers some great all day brunch options. The serving sizes are decent and items are priced from around $ 15 to $ 22. One of my favourite dishes is the Grilled Haloumi with poached egg salad. Large, generous servings of haloumi is included and the eggs cooked to perfection. If you’re in the area, check this little gem out.

Yummy! My sweet husband took me out to breaky after giving him a hand to finish off a gardening job and he had the special blue cheese sauce over sweet potato and poached eggs and I had the haloumi salad with beetroot chutney and dukkah also with poached eggs. My only complaint whatsoever was that I wanted another egg. The coffee was great too. And even though it was very busy really didn’t have long to wait. All in all very delish!

Wow wow wow wow! What a fantastic little find in an unassuming place! Had no problem getting a table for two on a Saturday morning, free newspapers to peruse and a choice of indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is a mix of standard brekky fare with a few delicious quirky options too. Coffee is by Darkstar, full flavoured and not bitter, and brewed very nicely. There are options for larger sized coffees served in a mug, which earns a big tick. I had poached eggs on toast with a serve of bacon, which is now a contender for the best in Perth. The other reviews are spot on — that Turkish toast is truly something to behold. Coffee was out quickly, but there was a moderate wait for food. Nothing too ridiculous, but I managed to skim read the entire newspaper before the plates came out. We’ll be back for sure!

The Cool room café is a bit out of the way but a worthy place to spend a Sunday morning brekky. With an eclectic feel and nice staff, the food is an unexpected treat with what is now my favorite Turkish toast in Perth. For a reasonable price you will be delighted with great combinations made with care, and leave satiated thanks to the large portions.

I was in need of coffee, but I really wanted some air, cool music and just to get away from the Fremantle ice creamers… and I was hungry when I stumbled on this gem of a café. I was greeted with a smile and the smoothest coffee and the best cake I have had for ages. Dark Star I was told by the gorgeous coffee maker — roasted in North Freo no less. With Nina Simone on the stereo, a cool breeze blew through the Café I think I may have just found a new slice of heaven… Im not sure I even want to share it with you yet… but then again we are all friends here…

Recently opening to the delight of everyone living in a three-block radius, The Cool Room is a cosy little coffee shop that draws its’ name from the fact that it is a converted butcher’s shop. But for the fact that it is next door to the charming retro store Old Values, the white butchers’ tiles would feel sterile; as it is, it feels novel and oddly cosy. The cosiness is helped by the pleasantly chatty barista, who doubles as the store’s owner. Though she knows when to leave you to your own devices, if you’re in the mood for some craic, she’ll be happy to talk. She also makes excellent coffee from the brain-fryingly strong Dark Star coffee beans(though she’ll be happy to make you a weaker blend if you ask) and I suggest trying the home-made muffins. The café is generally nice and quiet and the tables and chairs out the front get a nice breeze in the late afternoon, making the cool room a cool place to spend an afternoon.
