A careful look through the variety of items here can yield great results! This one at Fulham Gardens has a lot of space and is light and airy, which I particularly like in a cheap shop — makes it seem not so cheap! I find that the pet toys are excellent and have lasted as long as more expensive ones. And my Office Dog has a lot of toys, so I have many to compare with. Office Dog knows the smell of the bag now and can tell when I’ve brought her back a treat. Sometimes she HAS to have it then and there in the car. I also find the branded beauty products great value. For example, not sure why I need to spend more on Colgate toothpaste or Rexona deodorant in the supermarket and they seem exactly the same. The third area I find useful is the craft/stationery section. I make a lot of art and craft projects and find they are great for coloured gift boxes, bags, paper and more. Not sure about the food. I’ve bought a few things here and there and they have all been fine. I’ve never noticed anything out of date or bad quality. About 15 mins ago, I was just about to order some promo items online for a business presentation gimmick, when I suddenly thought to phone Cheap as Chips. Friendly and helpful lady answered phone after a couple of rings, found what i wanted and then directed me to the part of the store I need for when I come in. It’s saved me about $ 100, so I’m about to leave this review and head on down there. No doubt Office Dog will be happy to see my return and I will also no doubt have more than I planned to buy — all essentials of course, you know…

I’m a self confessed fan of bargain shops. You know that. I know that. We all know that. I go to cheap as chips often enough to have a preference over which store I’d rather go to. This is not it. Yes I do go there every now and then to check it out, but ever since a Cheap as Chips opened up at Port Adelaide that one become my favourite. The Cheap as Chips at Fulham Gardens is a decent sized, but it feels so much more cramped then it needs to. It really needs to be set up in a better way. Despite the issues I have with the store, they do still have a pretty good variety of stock… but I’ve seen better.

If you’re a bit tight of wallet at times(and I’m sure that I’m not the only one that suffers from this debilitating illness), this place is pretty awesome. There’s lots of cheap and crappy stuff here, but there’s also some cheap and good stuff. Sometimes it takes a little experimentation to tell the difference between the two though. My favourite section is the pet accessories area. I’ve bought so much stuff here, it’s not funny. Toys for my cats and dogs, training pads for the puppy, litter trays, litter, bowls, leads and collars, et cetera. I like this place a lot.

Ah how I love cheap as chips. Never been? Think reject shop, but way better. Cheap as chips has everything you could want, from cleaning supplies, to pet stuff, right through to office furniture. Cheap as chips is one of those stores I cant just go into and buy one thing. In fact, I’ve been known to walk out with bags and bags of goodies at a time.
