DONOTEATHERE! Absolutely terrible service — we had settled up our bill at the table and were leaving when we were yelled at by another waitress in front of a group of tables. She’d assumed we were doing a dine and dash, and thought this was the best way to go about asking if we’d already paid. The tables around us burst out laughing and then followed that with shocked silence as my 70 year old mother explained that we’d already paid at the table. No apology was given. I would never go back again, especially not for what was effectively an over-priced pub meal. They’re lucky they have a nice location. The waiting on tables was generally pretty sloppy and we had empty glasses for the entirety of our meals. I can see our experience was not unique, as there are a few people on here complaining about the waitress specifically. I hope the owner reads this and fills the vacancy soon. Or hires more attentive and better staff.

Well I popped in for an entrée at first in between rowing regatta races! Wow great service grabbed a bench seat on the window overlooking the bay! Had the King Prawns OMG truly amazing entrée serve! Sadly had to go but as we had time to kill before next race came back to an amazing main of Duck and again it was amazing with a Pinot Gris and once again lovely water views. Impeccable service. Well done.

Nice venue and comfortable seating but instantly let down by handprints all over the windows that surround the restaurant. My wife ordered 180 day grass fed eye fillet off the«something more substantial» portion of the menu. There was NOTHING substantial to that meal. The smallest eye fillet I’ve ever seen, 2 of the smallest pieces of broccolini and 2 little patties of whats supposed to be a cheesy gnocchi. For the most expensive item on the mains menu we were left a little shocked. We figured the proof must be in the pudding. That’s where we were wrong. The eye fillet, ordered medium was still blue in the centre and completely unseasoned. The 1 bite worth of broccolini was average and the weird gnocchi patties were a hush puppy(crust filled with cheesy mashed potatoes) and not gnocchi at all. I being a wagyu fan ordered the burger. Could not fault it. It was ok. But simple things in fine dining can let it all down. When I went to season my Pier chips with salt I ended up dumping a ton and I do mean a ton of pepper on them instead. Note to staff: Common knowledge, salt goes in the shaker that has the most holes and pepper goes in the one that has the fewest amount of holes because pepper is used more sparingly. The super fine pepper came flowing out of the shaker at an incredibly rate. Kind of ruined it for me.

Something has gone wrong here. Check out my fish picture. Disappointing food for the second time in a row. The fish was dry and deep fried whole.

Great find in Geelong. The restaurant overlooks Cario bay so be sure to request a table be the window. Baveras has semi formal/casual feel making it great for all occasions. The food was defiantly the best I’ve had in Geelong. I had the steak sandwich which was on the small side, but all the components were cook well(steak, bacon, onions and tomato relish). Someone else had the fish of the day, and I must admit I did have a touch of food envy — it looked amazing! The only down side was the service. While it was great when we had a waiter at the table, it did take a fair amount of effort(from us) to get someone to take our order. Overall a pleasant experience. I will be back.

A rare find, good food in a quality setting at the end of a pier. Amazing! The chicken and avocado baguette is consistently good — moist, fresh, delicious and moreish. So too are the lamingtons with their homemade jam. The lamingtons are not always available though, what a shame. Baveras is split in two parts — a formal sit down dining area with fantastic views over the water and a casual colourful outdoor area complete with astro turf. Choose various tasty baguettes and tempting cakes from the display cabinet and enjoy them outside in the sun, very relaxing. The dining room has a great weekday lunch deal — main and a wine, beer or soft drink for $ 19.90. I am looking forward to trying this soon. Bring some coins as parking on the pier is by the meter.
