So I had previously been to the crown street store and was super disappointed, a year or two later I’ve decided to give them another chance. I ordered the pork burrito which was real dope, pork was tasty good amount of guacamole and a nice change from black beans that most places are using these days(cantina Mobil use pinto beans) I did opt out of chipotle mayo on the burrito(because I fucking hate chipotle sauce and I hate mayonnaise even more) The friend I ate with got the beef tacos and the pork tacos, pork was the obvious winner however they too didn’t like the chipotle mayo sauce(and they are a chipotle sauce lover) Also the hallway that leads from the front of the restaurant to the seating out the back smells rank, fix the chat sewerage smell ASAFP! In conclusion I was very satisfied with my $ 12.50 burrito, the chipotle mayo hybrid sauce isn’t for everyone and they better fix the smell.

Probably the best tacos I’ve eaten in Sydney. Not probably… definitely. Cantina Movil recently underwent renovations at their HQ on Glebe Point. They got rid of that cute truck-shaped bar, and instead created an open bar space with stools. The new layout looks pretty slick and contemporary. To be honest, their old layout was very charming and almost romantic. But this is Glebe, and there’s so much competition, so if they want do a Madonna now and then, I’m okay with it. ANYWAY…The menu is small, but what they make… they make really well. I recommend ordering their 3 for $ 10 tacos, and downing them with some good ol’ fashioned Tequila… ahem I mean Corona. The tacos are small, and on soft tortillas(which have a very homemade flavor to them!). They come with the filling of your choice, crisp cabbage, queso fresco(THEBEST!), and a lime/orange dressing which I can’t quite place but might be the marinade. I strongly recommend getting the guacamole add-on. And if you’re a little more adventurous, ask them to add the habanero(but tell them to put only a little, or you’ll be breathing fire through your butt for a week!). This might also be one of the healthier alternatives too. Unless you order the burrito. Only order the burrito if you are HUNGRY. I mean, that thing is massive. Just don’t be a prick and order the Burrito Desnudo(naked burrito) because then that’s just a salad and you can get that anywhere. The soft corn tortillas are fantastic, and carbs are good for you. I disagree with general consensus that this is «cheap» takeout. This is premium takeout food, and is not really cheap(except for the 3 for $ 10 tacos, which I think are available on a certain weekday). Staff are generally pretty friendly, but they often seem short staffed.

On entering the restaurant I was greeted by a friendly bar staff who made me up a pisco sour which had very strong citrus sharp taste which was refreshing. I order the Chioptle beef slow roasted and shredded burrito with Mexican slaw which cost $ 11 + $ 1 for guacamole. The service here is very fast which I think from it start-up origins it had to be(this originally started as a food truck service). The burrito amazing full of flavor and the right balance of spice to enjoy. My only let down was the for the price and the portion it was too small and was still hungry afterwards. The restaurant had a very Mexican theme to it which I really enjoyed with a nice garage seating area to chill out at. Got to actual meet one of the owners a few day after I came here, she was very friendly and had a real passion for what she did(which are love about local business). They are also were the first food trucks to roam around the city of Sydney.

This afternoon I was walking down Glebe Point Road with an eye on a quick meal and spotted this place. I’ve been meaning to try it since I love Mexican food and the set up was pretty interesting. The menu is limited to four dishes(burrito, naked burrito, nachos and tacos) with four fillings(chicken, pork, beef, and vegetarian) along with two sides and drinks. Very simple. The interior is brightly painted with a little RV, referencing the name of the restaurant, for the bar. It seemed inviting so I went in and ordered the pork burrito, beef nachos and a margarita: $ 5 at happy hour! While I would like to say the nachos were decent the burrito put my off. It didn’t have any of the oozing traditional flavor and instead had a lot of dry cabbage. Normally a fan of cabbage, I tried to forge on and eat the burrito but I just wasn’t feeling it. The nachos, as I said, were better but they were still store bought chips with pretty weak guacamole. Meat was tasty though. If and when I go back, can’t resist the margarita machine, I’ll use this more as a snack and watering hole because the vibe is good but the food has some issues to be worked out.
