The name screams bad food from the outside — the old saying that ‘if it’s in the name it won’t be on the plate’ shouts down to me. I’m not sure if the other students read the sign above, but I’m more than sure the glossy picture of the available goodies plastered on the window get you inside. When I went it was a busy place to get a bite to eat. The shiny surfaces would be noisy if not for the bodies absorbing the sound. The smell of burgers and pies forced its way into my nostrils until I couldn’t fight it anymore. I got a takeaway — a Thai Vegie Pastie. I wasn’t expecting a lot from the food but the flavours turned out to be pretty good. I suppose a room for eaters should have convinced me first. Their website mentions they do catering, and it looks like a lot of what they provide for parties they serve here, so if you’re considering maybe its worth sampling bits in the café before booking for your party.

I sat in on a few lectures at Deakin awhile ago, and not really wanting to eat on campus, I went for a wander. Didn’t feel up for Italian, as I’d had a pizza the night before. I figured that if I was going for a longish walk given the amount of time for the lunch break, it’d need to be fast anyway. I stumbled upon this place. It’s a nice little café, and the food looked alright, so I gave it a go. I ordered a chicken schnitzel burger with some chips. Now, I had lowish expectations, despite having thought the food I’d seen looked okay. I’ve been disappointed before. But not this time. It was such a delicious burger that I wanted to stop there on the way home and grab another. The bun was fresh, the chicken was juicy and just right. I really liked it. Apparently they also do catering. I don’t know much about that. I just know they do a nice burger.
