This place escaped my attention for some time before I noticed a sign at the end of the street that immediately grabbed my attention. ‘Records, Cds, Art: This Way’(Or something like that)! As I was to expect, the sign did not disappoint, as upon entering, one is met with an array of artwork upon the walls, boxes full of secondhand records as well as books, CDs and DVDs all at very good prices indeed. The shopkeeper(s), who admittedly work half the week each one is to assume, are always friendly and willing to assist if you are looking for something in particular, otherwise each shopkeeper seems quite content with being immersed in what they currently have spinning on the record player in store. I’ve never once been to the store and walked out empty handed, I always find something secondhand(or new) each time I visit, which lately, has become a weekly thing. All up, this shop is a must visit for any music lover especially anyone interested in vinyl of all genres but more notably of a blues, folk and rock background. Make sure you scout through the books and cds too! I never really know what I’ll find here some days, but I think I just like the atmosphere of the place too!

What a gem this place is! Retro Heaven, there is a record player on the go, and a shop assistant who seems to be in his own happy place, while the shop is full of records, CDs, DVDs and art and music related books. The walls are lined with artwork, and the building itself is quite a work of art. They sell second hand and new CDs, as well as second hand DVDs. Their range of books is fantastic. I was so tempted by Nina Simone’s autobiography, which I haven’t seen anywhere else. Oh, why didn’t I buy it?! Oh yeah, but partner was with me and would have told me off. Oh well, I know where it is… The art is a varied mix of aboriginal, landscape and impressionist pieces. This shop is a must visit for lovers of music and art, and is always buying music, especially rock, blues and jazz records from the 60s and 70s.

For about an hour I looked through the books, DVDs, CDs and pieces of art throughout this little shop on Sussex St. You can find all sorts of bits and pieces including new and second hand records, books and changing gallery space. Paintings and Prints, including Aboriginal and other contemporary art. There were many beautiful books and biographies I was interested in buying, and will most likely return in the near future to purchase them! For the record, they are always looking to buy collections of rock, blues and jazz LP’s and 45’s.
