We made our way here after failing lunch at another cellar door due to it being closed — and I am glad we did. When we got there we were met with a friendly smile. We made our way to our table to peruse the menu, they had delicious sounding home-made pies so we just had to order some of those! We each order a pie and a cheese platter to share, the pie was more meat then pastry and tasted amazing. Very highly recommended. Every wine I tried was quite good, especially the«The Stopover Barbera» I am not usually one to choose a red and have only started drinking it, however its a must. It went amazingly with my pie and I could have drank glass after glass.

What a lovely place for a cosy Sunday winter lunch. Placed next to the roaring fire we enjoyed the most fabulous home made pies and a glass of red. Beef and stout pie went down a treat, as did the pulled pork and gruyère pie. Pastry was melt in your mouth, and with a salad on the side at $ 15 each, was a winner. We’ll be back!

Excellent wine in the ‘premium’ range, lovely staff, great position for a lazy sunday lunch or wine tasting. Strong hills reds — great Sangiovese and Barbera, the latter seldom found in the hills.
