This place is fantastic for cheese lovers! Lovely free tastings and a massive selection of cheeses and accompaniments. Lovely café also located here for coffee etc. The staff were lovely and happy to assist.

Cheese, cheese, cheese! If I could live on one thing for the rest or my life I would choose cheese. As long as I could taste the many varieties with crusty bread and paste. In fact, the Ploughman’s platter served at Udder Delights would be a fine specimen to base this upon. Oh what a delight! Warm crusty baguettes, luscious shaved ham, salami, cheddar, brie and pickled onions all served to you in a basket of love. You also have the option to add on more if you are feeling hungry. We are always hungry, so decided to add on blue cheese and pâté. There is nothing to complain about a lunch like this. It is purely comfort food. And the cheese at Udder Delights is made with skill and care. I notice that the varieties are very easy on the palate. They produce cheese that really suits all lovers out there. Nothing too strong; nothing to adventurous. Keeping it simple is what they do. I recommend trying their double brie, a very creamy version. A great tribute! As for the restaurant, it is comfortable. Nice window space to admire your surroundings outside. You are also able to eat on the deck with our puppy dog. Udder Delights with worth the trip to Hahndorf for the weekend.

A must when in Hahndorf. Nothing beats a cheese platter with white wine. The people at the shop helped us in selecting the cheese and the service was great too. They have a big range of cheese and other dips and even raw meats. I think it is worth the visit when in Hahndorf, Adelaide.

I’m a cake freak so I come here regularly. Yes they love their cheese here but the cakes are always yummo here too. They make their own classic sticky date, chocolate and cherry, and orange. Have a pretty big selection with gluten free option provided, and of course the best cream. The coffee is OK and the staff lovely but I really just come back for a cake fix.

I have only been here once. Don’t disregard my review because of that because what I have to say is imperative that you read… You possibly have walked passed and thought«my nose doesn’t go high enough to go in there» but you would be way wrong. So wrong that you should get your ground-rubbing nose into Udder Delights and look at the menu — or sample some cheese — just to get you in the mood. Having not grown up in suburbia, cheese platters with olives and meats were not a typical thing to eat for us. But what options you get here is just salivating serious. Baguettes, pâté’s, olives, some sort of jams, selctions of cheeses, real crackers(no Jatz here), dried meat, smoked meat, thin meat, and more cheese to fill you up. And if you are of cheese vintage and class, you will also have your wine mulling beside you while you partake in a ‘proper, grown up manner’ with those around you. That is, you haven’t just gouda yourself with the brie block. And if you aren’t a fan of any of the stronger goat, sheep, or blue cheeses — just say so. They will provide you with something equally as tasty and appetising on your plate. But have a go at them. I’m no blue-cheese cheeseleader, but I was convinced to try a rather palatable breed of blue cheese — and I liked it. A lot. Also, though one cheese from goats milk tasted like I just licked the goat(well, it was a strong goat flavour I mean!), the second one was a surprise to me with how nice it was. There goes my stiff upper lip. No need to take Mum & Dad to impress them, but if you do, they will be – Udderly Delighted that you did.

Take a gouda hard look at yourself. You’re out there claiming to be «cheese lover,» and you haven’t even cut the cheese at Udder Delights? This place pays true homage to fromage with a cabinet full of South Australian and imported cheeses from goats, sheep and cows around the world. Like a good wine, you can describe what you like and they will give you a taster of something that will suit your buds. Even better is that you can buy all your cheese plate complimentary items here too — from fig paste to pickles, crackers and antipastos. You certainly won’t find a Devondale kilo of cheese here for $ 6 but stop being so crumbly and realise you are getting quality for price. The staff will spin you a wheel of cheese or 2 and have excellent knowledge about the cheese they serve up, especially from their own Udder Delights brand. And if you just cam-em-bert not having the insider knowledge on how to make, describe or pair your cheese then check out their $ 20pp. cheese and wine tasting afternoons(group bookings required) or their cheese making classes listed on their website.

If cheese is involved, I’m there, especially if it’s coupled with some sort of relish, or fig paste. I come from a family who has night mares every night because we all eat so much cheese, breakfast lunch and tea, not sure if this is healthy but it’s an addiction and it’s better than smoking. Unless you’re smoking cheese, bit of a rant here kids. It’s a really nice set up, my favourite time of year to visit Udder Delights is in the summertime in the evening so I can sit outside in lovely Hahndorf, dining on cheese and watching the world go by… I’m not going to go into every option, I’ll just say that there is every option you could want, not too expensive and sure to satisfy, I learn more about cheese every time I visit. Smiles are my face.

The best cheese in South Australia– hands down! I could live off this cheese for the rest of my life. I sampled some of their stuff at the Adelaide Cheesefest and ended up eating several blocks. I have to say their standouts are their Udder Delights Heysen Blue Cheese and their goat curd. The blue cheese tastes like blue cheese, but it isn’t too strong at all. I managed to turn someone who hates any type of blue cheese into a lover with this one. It is extremely easy to demolish the whole wedge– trust me. The goat curd is like a dip crossed with goat cheese, so heaven in a bowl. I love goat cheese and this is a mild version of this, perfect with crackers or part of a antipasto platter. It is also a brilliant alternative to cheese. The shop also stocks a range of cheeses made by other brands, some international. One of the best cheeses I have ever consumed is their Chevre D’Affinois. It is a goat cheese, but different. The easiest way to explain it would be a cross between a goat cheese and a brie. It tastes like goat cheese but it has the same texture as a brie– a slightly chewy exterior layer with a melty inside. Just perfect. Udder Delights also makes the best cheese crackers. Mum and I drive up to their shop often just so we can get their crackers. I don’t know what is so good about them, you just have to try them. They also sell a range of marinated vegetables and delicious dips, that go well with the cheeses. The shop also has an accompanying café, which serves a range of sweets, all day breakfast and other savoury dishes.

I so badly wanted to avoid this place because of the cringe-worthy name, but eventually I had to go in after hearing so many good things about it. As you’d expect, Udder Delights sells cheese. And lots of it. If you’re like me and you love your cheese, whether it be on a cracker with a glass of wine, or in a sandwich, you’ll love this place. The staff are great, and they certainly know their cheese. You can explain what you like, and they’ll offer suggestions on what you might like. I even got to try a few samples before narrowing it down to my few favourites. They were also able to tell me what wines go best with the cheese. If you’re around, and you like cheese give this place a go. You’ll be udderly disappointed if you don’t!

Ever thought of covering yourself in cheese? Ya, neither have I, cos it would be crazy hot… yup. Udder Delights is cheezy heaven! So many fuzzy feeling inspiring cow, sheep and goats milk creations makes me weep curdled tears that I am not in their presence right now! For those either uneducated in the wonders of cheesiness, or if you just like to ‘talk cheddar’ the staff are incredibly knowledgable and will open your eyes to some locally sourced awesomeness that you may not have considered. The other MAJOR positive is the location… yes it is a 20 odd minute drive from Adelaide, but it is onlt a 20 second walk from random metwust options that go swimmingly with any cheese… WINNER!

This cheese cellar lives up to its name and the free tasting is sure to leave with you with a positively moo-ving sensation. My friend and I took advantage of the free tasting and soon stocked up on Udder Delights’ award-winning, handmade cheese. We bought as much cheese, gourmet crackers and quince paste as we could carry before the half-hour drive from Hahndorf to Adelaide CBD. Udder Delights is popular with tourists and locals alike, so the cellar can get really busy at peak times, but even then it’s well worth the wait. The creamy Adelaide Hills Triple Brie and tangy goat curd cheese are particularly outstanding. But this place is no ordinary cheese cellar, it also offers breakfast and light meals, along with the cheese basket. Those wanting to make their own cheese can buy the ingredients at Udder Delights, and the cellar also offers cheese-making classes. For those who can’t get enough of the free cheese tasting there’s a chance to book a one-hour interactive cheese and wine master class for $ 20 per person. This place really is a cheesy freak’s dream.
