This is not your everyday pizza. Pizza Religion puts Dominos and Pizza Hut to extreme shame. Incredibly gourmet and delicious toppings such as lamb and feta, pumpkin with other roasted goodies and prosciutto really are impossible to beat and it really isn’t comparable to the other pizzas available on the market. Although Pizza Religion are creating a new so called ‘Religion’ amongst us locals, you will find there is a slightly cheaper price point in comparison to the other pizza giants… yet you couldn’t expect them to be much cheaper as the produce used smells and tastes as though it has just left the farm. yum yum yum yum yum!

Ah mate. The potato pizza though me and me friends had 4 different pizzas. All were amazing. I typically love pizzas with baked potato on. What more can I wish when there is potato bacon and caramelised onions. Lovely staff and good atmosphere as well.

Great pizza, super fast service. We had the chilli prawn, mushroom, beef cheek and margarita pizzas… All delicious.

I’m pretty sure that Pizza Religion knows our number and our order by heart. They certainly know how to pump out a delicious pizza for a neighbour hood joint. The place pumps in the week, busy with tables full of families. The top pick for us, Lamb and fetta and Prawn and Chrizo(forgive my spelling). So many delicious pizzas, so little time. If you order takeaway, make sure you get down there a few minutes before your order is ready, they tend to be super quick and you want that pizza steaming hot.

May I just say I am so thrilled that this little beauty is my local pizza joint. Pizza Religion is perfect for takeout, but if you’re organised enough to book, or lucky enough to score a table, the courtyard out the back it perfectly cute. Staff are quick and friendly, and happy to share their pizza knowledge which comes in handy when trying to choose. Especially when your group is ‘special needs’, which pretty much every group is these days! The mushroom was my personal fav, but the prawn pizza got a lot of love from the table. There are several vegetarian options, as well as a great meat eaters selection. Keep an eye on the specials, they come up with some pretty awesome combinations! I am an agnostic, but this is one religion that makes me a believer!

I’m officially a convert. A well priced, delicious and there is definitely a niche in the pizza world for this type of pizza. We’ve sampled a few options and they do always have a special which is worth checking their site for if you are ordering take away. I can recommend the capricciosa, it’s a easy eating — great with red wine kind of pizza. There are a few other pizzas that pack a punch. We ordered them with the capricciosa which left the poor capricciosa tasting a little bland in comparison. The chorizo was quite special, certainly sparse in the covering on the base but any more and it probably would be been too intense. So spicy, so prawny :) The mushroom was another strong contender, with telleggio and thyme providing some strong flavours. It’s not true Italian wood fired pizza but it’s certainly not bastardising pizza either, it’s pizza for food lovers in Melbourne. Happy…

I like what Pizza Religion does. It manages to sit somewhere between fancy-pants(thin crust minimal topping) pizza and old skool(big stodgy base and a million toppings) pizza. There’s interesting combinations(Proscuitto, Gorgonzola, Roasted Pear, Basil and Truffle Oil — yes!) but nothing too whacky or weird. There’s Mount Zero olives and an Arancini special of the day to start. I mean, really, who doesn’t love deep fried rice balls? The side salads are simple yet fresh and help to alleviate the guilt of double carb loading pizza after the rice balls. A tight little drinks list rounds everything off nicely. Fancy a decent glass of wine or a cider with your mid-week pizza? Then head on out to Pizza Religion’s backyard and get stuck in to it.
