A good place for lunch. The staff and nice and helpful. Some of the basic dishes are quite good — phở, combination rice. The tomato rice with chicken and pork are good — but portion of chicken/pork is pretty small. Overall, good casual and cheap meal.

Really liked this place, very casual place — obviously family run however just added to the charm. The Vietnamese Spring Rolls were really nice, full of crunch and tasty tasty. Yes, incorrect dishes were also served but taken back without hesitation. Perhaps the staff use this tactic to ensure they have the dishes they want for staff dinner? :P Place is BYO. Would definitely re-visit, tasty food and good value. footnote: Thanks to Unilocalers I have now tried my first TWO Vietnamese restaurants. Yay!

My sister introduced me to Sapa Hills II on a warm Wednesday night. We made a beeline to this place as there is ample seating and she knew we could just breeze in. The food was fresh and tasty, and very reasonably priced. Staff were enthusiastic though sometimes difficult to flag down. We had one minor hiccup when we received incorrect dishes, but the staff were genuinely apologetic and hastily rectified the issue. I would head out here again if I was in the area and wanted a quick feed without having made a booking

Having recently been introduced to the original Sapa Hills in Footscray, I was happy to learn that they had opened a second restaurant on my side of the city and had it high on the list of places to try. A spontaneous Sunday evening dinner with the parentals was the perfect occasion to visit — four of us with hungry bellies and a bottle of BYO riesling in hand. Like its Footscray cousin, Sapa Hills II does casual family style Vietnamese with a little flair. You won’t get tissue boxes and jars of chopsticks on the table here — instead, the tables are set neatly with plates, bowl, chopsticks and relatively robust paper napkins. Black and white photography and bamboo decorative panels line the walls. The menu is gigantic. There’s over 200 dishes and it isn’t especially easy to navigate. Even the waiters must have trouble as a few creative liberties were taken with some of the things we ordered — «vegetarian» fried rice came out with bacon and prawns in it and«chinese broccoli with garlic» somehow got interpreted as «a mix of veggies with tofu». The waiter had rushed away before I could point out the error, and given that none of our dining party were particularly fussy we let it slide. Sometimes you need to choose your battles, and this wasn’t one I was motivated to pursue. The staff seemed unorganised, despite there being a lot of them for the half full restaurant, and none of us felt like throwing additional chaos in to the mix by sending two dishes back that were perfectly fine to eat, though indeed not what we had exactly ordered. We ate them happily — the ingredients were fresh and there was good flavour — and focused more on the task of catching up with one another. I liked this place. The service was friendly, the food was fresh, the prices very reasonable(we ate well at around $ 20 per head), it’s quick and they let us BYO(there is a wine list, but it’s a little uninspiring). I’ll be back, though I’ll make sure it’s on one of my more adventurous days when I’m prepared to be tolerant of wild substitutions of the ingredients in my order.
