We headed to Bo7 because the person that I was site seeing with wanted to eat there. He heard that that they were recognized for their grilled pork. So being the first-timer to Sydney and famished I was down for just about anything. It was located in a food court location of a Chinatown Mall. It was right at the entrance of the food court which was convenient and although it was somewhat crowded in the court, the lines were minimum for all restaurants located there which means they were quick to prepare the meals. I ordered the rice noodle bowl with the pork and spring rolls and he ordered the plate. It’s like our Bale Vietnamese here in Hawaii but it has much more tastier and definitely a fresher taste throughout. My pork was cut up while his was a full piece with an egg on the top. It was very delicious!

Thank you Unilocalers for another wonderful recommendation ! Ive been craving Phở recently(from watching too much Masterchef? heh) and decided to give this place a shoot. Located in a foodcourt on the 3rd level in Market city, it’s right by the entrance(easy to find!). There are a few type of #1(Phở) — raw beef/cooked beef/meatballs/mixed… etc etc(they will hand you a list of phở choices if you ask for it) . Phở was really good. The broth was delicious and the beef slices were not over-done or chewy. The crispy spring rolls were yummy too and they appeared to be hand made as they were of different sizes. I would definitely come back again !

False start. When confronted with a choice, my default setting is the most expensive thing I can find. Ordered the beef and prawn hot pot at $ 18. ‘Not available!’ barked my tiny Vietnamese server in that much beloved way that means I smile at her and she smiles at me and the ice is broken. ‘Try again’ she says, like a dare. ‘OK smarty pants’ I say ‘what about seafood noodle something ?’ ‘With seafood. And noodles. OK handsome’ she says, or rather means but only says the ‘OK’ part. So as usual I get a beeper and go and find a table. We are on the third floor of Market City and the place is packed but I find a table next to a bloke who either has dementia or an invisible phone and earpiece ‘cos he is speaking loudly to someone but there’s no one there. Beeper goes off and there’s my seafood phở. Man it’s good! Lots of beautiful soup and plenty of bits and pieces and leaves and bean sprouts on the side and a slice of lime. Oh god that was good. There’s a photo of a Good Food article on the best phở in Sydney plastered on the wall. I have had each and every of the Phở available. This place is deservedly listed. Just fantastic!

YESYESYES!!! FINALLY!!! I’ve found my home for some good BUNTHITNUONGCHAGIO(Vermicelli Noodle w/Beef & Egg Roll) What I love: 1) Portion Size — I come from Southern California where all Vietnamese food is served in an XL bowl. The only other place in Sydney that’s comparable is Pasteur, but it costs $ 2 more! 2) Price — $ 11.50… It’s cheaper than Pasteur, but more expensive than TK Phở(small portion size). It’s still not as cheap as in CA #justsayin’ :) 3) Quality — Fresh. Fresh. Fresh. Fresh. No restaurants in Market City should have an excuse for not having fresh produce. Paddy’s Market is just downstairs! It’s called«Bun HEO(pork) Nuong Cha Gio» here, but it’s basically the same thing. They also have dishes under the heating lamp if you want to get a combo rice or noodle with two/three items for less than $ 10. I personally would rather do the made to order menu… It’s FRESHER that way :) Cam On Thanh Tam!!! —- [15.11.13 Addendum] —- If I didn’t love this place enough for their Beef Vermicelli Noodle. They King Hit me with their Com Bo Luc Lac(Shaken Beef w/Rice) Everything was perfect about it. The beef was so tender and juicy, the«red» rice was tasty, the leafy greens were fresh, they gave a side of cabbage soup and salt/lemon dipping sauce(TK Phở downstairs does not)… The cabbage soup and dipping sauce is what makes it AUTHENTIC! And you know what was the kicker??? PORTIONSIZE!!! The first time in my 64 days in Sydney that I’ve said I’m full… Incredible! 6 stars if possible :)
