One of the last bastions of hardware stores, it remains uninspired and unfazed by the big boys in the field and why should it! Much like the unrenovated corner pub hanging onto it’s history, so too is South Henley Hardware since its establishment in 1956. Yes of course its had to come into the 21st century somewhere along the way, but it has all the equipment and supplies needed to fix or beautify your home and garden today. They even offer a tool sharpening service which is as rare as hens teeth, I was looking to find someone in my suburb only two weeks ago to do this for my hedge trimmers but had to look high and low and once found, I discovered it was their last days as they were closing down, noooooooo. Curse you red shirts down the road! Please support your local… what ever it is — because one day it’ll be gone and you won’t find anything like it. Just because it’s not shiny and new doesn’t mean it doesn’t work… remember it’s ‘vintage’.
