We’ve been here for meals, coffee, ice creams etc lots of times. They get busy and sometimes the service can be lacking but the staff are nice, coffee is great, the food is generally nice, the view is great, and they are very welcoming. And… they are bike rider and child friendly. They’re right on the beach so a perfect stop in summer.

Well the view was good, the food was nice, but the ambience was ordinary, service minimal and the Noice on a Saturday lunch time absolutely unbearable. There would be better places to eat at Henley the last reviewer said meh… And I concur

Meh. Big fat meh. Obviously catering to people who want to be at the beach, but without the sand, sun, other people or anything actually, you know, beach related. It has one of those mega menus that have everything under the sun available, but everything is all a bit bready and or fried. It’s super expensive for what you get. You can get a comparable meal and dining experience at Café Primo for half the price. No, you won’t get the beach, but if you’re behind the glass at Evida you won’t really get it anyway.

This is my second visit to Evida with hubby and two young kids. Both times were an impromptu decision to have an early dinner on a Sunday in winter because we were in the area. We come here for the view and family friendly atmosphere which is also not noisy or chaotic(maybe the mediocre food and prices put people off). Therefore, we put up with the quality of the food and no table service. We are also ok with the prices of the food because of the excellent view and the friendly staff. Pizzas were ok taste-wise and probably the most value for money items on the menu. The lamb salad was very chewy, tasteless and the dressing was to sweet. The veal tasted ok, but very poorly presented. The food reminds me of my experience dining at the local RSL in the country. Kids meals were $ 9.90. Stick to the pasta and pizza. The nuggets were terrible processed stuff. Even my son rejected it. We won’t be back in a hurry. But I would be happy to have coffee and dessert there, and even the pizza because it was pleasant enough for us dining as a family with young children, and the staff were friendly.

I was quite happy at Evida. We went for brunch on Sunday and the food was good and quite quick to come out once we ordered. The were decent sized meals and tasted great just could have been presented a little better. My only real issue with this venue was that there had been a family next to us who left as we sat down and the mess they had created was terrible but no one cleaned it up for ages and it was just horrible to look at. Plus there was food all over the floor and it had even got up under out seats so just made the place look dirty. I would go back for the food though and I’m looking forward to trying lunch or dinner there.

The food took an extremely long time to come. It was also stone cold. The fruit salad was pretty much a banana salad and we had a hair in one of the veggie breakfasts. The staff looked extremely unprofessional. There was blue jeans, ridiculous coloured ungroomed hair, facial piercings and a girl with her breasts for everyone to see. I would never come back here.

The food here is pretty standard. Nothing spectacular however set against the beautiful beach it is a really lovely dining experience. In Summer the seats outside allow you to enjoy the seabreeze. In winter you can enjoy the warming fireplace. It’s pay when you order making meals with a large group of people easy. No awkward ‘bill split, you had alcohol and I didn’t’ moment. It is a bit noisy but I like that vibe. It’s well priced, especially for Henley square, and is most likely to have space out of all the restaurants on a hot summers night.

Its all for the view. Evida is set on such a beautiful vista, with full views of Henley Beach and a big curved glass outlook for the indoor diners. To be honest, I come here purely to look at the ocean and if it wasn’t for the divine landscape, I wouldn’t eat here ever. Evida is really a stock standard Italian café with restaurant pricing. Expect the same pizzas, pastas, mains and foccacias you see just about everywhere, yet I find the punchy taste you find at other cafes is lacking. Breakfast here is a bit hit and miss, I feel the food doesn’t quite match the dizzying heights the price suggests. Food is OK but nothing to write about at length. My big issue here is the lack of table service, orders are taken at the counter and drinks are picked up by the diners themselves. This bamboozles me for a food joint advertising itself as a restaurant considering many cafes run the full service these days. Coffee isn’t too bad though, give it a go and see what you think, but there are a number of other places around town with top notch views and great food around Adelaide with more accurate pricing.

We came here for affogato on a balmy summer night and had to fight our way past the crowd. The outside area was packed with the cool beach set, loitering with their lattes and loud voices and Marlborough Lights. Inside was much calmer: chocolate and mint Ottomans and a large wood fire(not lit obviously) make this a welcoming café to wander into looking for treats. My co-diner advised they have excellent breakfast here, but our affogato was served in a spirit glass and it was all melted and guilty looking. The clientele of this establishment can be identified by the specials board, which featured a bottle of Moet for ninety five dollars, and wagyu rump steak with onions and mash for a cool thirty eight bucks. Nice view indeed but a bit pricey and the atmosphere lacked appeal for the likes of me.

Although Evida is in many ways a pretty average café, its main draw card places it quite highly in my books. This draw card is its beautiful setting among Henley Beachside surroundings. Therefore whenever I visit Evida I feel sort of special despite that it is just a café at heart, and I just love the little bit of class intertwined with a relaxed beachy scene. The pizza is nice(can’t comment on any other meals), and there is a generous amount of indoor seating surrounded by large windowed walls, thus showing off the gorgeous beach. Additionally there is an outdoor setting with a balcony, which is very much enjoyed whilst equipped with a latte or fresh orange juice. Like it!

I have visited Evida on and off over the years and it is a good standard café. They used to have the best little café downstairs right on the beachfront but unfortunately it has undergone a few different changes since then. Evida’s feels really big but it is probably because of the huge curved glass window overlooking the beachfront. It is separated into a few different sections. As you walk in from the street there is a cosy front area with an open fire and couches which is great when you visit in winter. Then, as Sarah says, there is the side balcony which is pretty windy a lot of the time. Lastly there is a large open dining area where the curved glass window is which isn’t too noisy as it is carpeted. The food is fairly standard Italian fare. I have had a good bruschetta and the coffee is quite good but I go there mainly for the views.

If you can manage to wrangle yourself a front, or outside table at Evida facing the beach, you have scored yourself one of the best dining views around. With walls of glass windows, whoever designed Evida did a great job in maximising the scenery around it to provide the most stunning views while you nibble on their delectable food. Having only been there for breakfast and dessert I cannot comment on the main meals, but what I experienced was good. The breakfast menu is quite big and offers range of non bacon and egg options, which I tend to look for. The desserts are really good and each time we go there is a new range of cakes, biscuits and little tarts to choose from. My friend who is a chocoholic often has the triple layer chocolate cake which is so good it should be a sin and they also sell individual Lindt balls which I know would be marked up like crazy but I don’t care because they are so yummy. The one thing I don’t like about Evida is you have to wait for them to make your coffee before you can take it and sit down. In busy periods this causes congestion near the machine and confusion about who is in line and who is waiting for coffee. Resolving this would save a lot of hassle for customers and staff alike.
