Stopped by for honey supplies and decided to stop for coffee and sample some cakes and ice cream. The cakes were delicious and great value for a quality product. Will definitely visit next time we are in the area.

The House of Honey is a «must-see» for those that want to break up the monotony of supping wines in the Swan Valley and feeling wobbly legged as a consequence. Easy to find on Great Eastern Highway, you have a really pleasant walk up to the shop which is(excuse the pun) buzzing with life. Tourists are like bees themselves, dipping and testing pots of pure honey from the honey and truffle(favourite) to the honey and cinnamon, parrot bush etc. Bees wax trophies hang in cabinets for us to gawp at, but if you want a living monument, check out the live bee hive activity behind the perspex box: a window into the intricate lifestyles of these amazing workers. Fascinating. Bit and pieces of bee-related stuff is on sale too: tea towels, ceramic pots with honey wands, lip balms, hand creams, boot wax, greeting cards. And if you get lucky, try the sparking water water. Interesting taste. Hats off to the staff too. Smiling and helpful(which was not the case with all the places we visited today).

Being a sufferer of fructose malabsorption our next stop at The House of Honey wasn’t really the place for me but for those that do not have to restrict their fructose this place is worth a visit. Proudly using only pure, unpasteurised and unadulterated varietal honeys there is a wide range of honey products on offer. There is also an active hive with a Perspex backing to allow viewing of the bees in action. I can now understand where the saying«busy bee» comes from because not a single bee in that hive stopped for a rest.
