Rockwall Bar & Grill

We had dinner here on monday. Great atmosphere, very friendly and fast stuff, except the owner. The female boss seemed to be in a bad mood.
Although the fish of the day was perfectly cooked, also the lamb. We didn’t try the wine, but there was a gorgeous selection.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant, better you make sure to reserve a table.

Can I go back to Hobart just to eat here again? Please?! It was so so good! It was plentiful in servings that even me, the girl who loves nothing and no one more than food was unable to finish her meal. But I tried my dang hardest! Did not help that I had entrée that was the size of a main! But the menu looked so good, it was a classic battle between the head and the heart and what they wanted.
Everything tasted perfectly, steak was cooked just the way it should have been, chicken roulade was moist and filling, flavours came left right and centre then met in the middle with the most gorgeous finishing of sauces and salads.
I would happily fork out the money to eat here, happily fly from Perth every once in a while just to have some more delicious steak. The whole venue is very cool, classic and intimate wither very clever architecture of the «rock wall» though a glass window, making it very easy to forget you were in a restaurant.

Located in the Salamanca strip, this eatery offers a wide variety of quality food. The atmosphere is always welcoming and the service is great. My favourites are the oysters kilpatrick for entrée and eye fillet for mains. There is a good selection of fine wines at reasonable prices. I frequent this restaurant regularly and it never fails to impress. Can highly recommend.

Twice we have been to this restaurant and been disappointed by disinterested staff and only average food for an above average price. The décor is beautiful though.
I am usually a lover Rockwall — you have such potential to lift your game and earn your place on the Salamanca strip!

Best oysters I have ever eaten, steak was cooked to perfection, staff were friendly, professional and welcoming.
I have to say one of the best dinning experiences I’ve had in a while.
Every one who walked in the door was greeted with genuine warmth and welcome.

This was my second visit to Rockwell after my first trip to Hobart a few years ago and I am very happy to see that nothing has changed, other than the menu.
The food is exceptional and the staff are some of the best I have ever seen in restaurants, other waiting staff could learn a lot from these people, if you want a meal of great food and no fuss and just simply great service, go here.
Of all the meals we had in Hobart this visit is at the top of the list, the price is worth every mouthful.

Well where to start???
You are greeted by friendly, energetic staff who take you straight to your large sized table.
The menu is full of fresh local produce and the wine list is full of SA & Tassie wines.
The food = OMG AMAZING!!!
I had their entrée special which was scallop ravioli, this was served of freshly dressed rocket and topped with Spanish onion and Parmesan. I enjoyed every mouthful and didn’t want it to end.
The main, I order the twice cooked duck, this was served on a bed of potato mash and a side of fresh steamed greens, once again I didn’t want it to end.
The dessert I ordered a chocolate fondant, this was served with vanilla ice cream, cream and chocolate sauce. This would have to be by far the BEST fondant I have ever eaten!!! I highly recommend this dessert!!!
Now down to the staff and service… This was great, I have nothing to fault, the staff being wait and chefs are all young, friendly and quick with service. They see a plate or glass empty and they are straight to your table. The staff are great (especially Anne) for recommending meals/​drinks etc and are great fun.

Good atmosphere, great service. Generous servings. Sadly I think the focus is more on quantity than quality. Chowder good, Lobster pâté overly sweet, pork chops a bit dry. If I lived in Hobart would I go back? Maybe, in 6 months or more.

I brought my girlfriend here for our six month anniversary. It is has a modern, elegant, but not too fancy feel inside. Our server was taking care of the entire restaurant and did so in a quiet and efficient way. I had a steak that was delicious. The location is excellent, not exactly bustling but felt energetic and a nice part of the city.
