I can not comment on the origins or authenticity of the cuisine, but the menu is extensive and service fantastic and all dishes I have tried have been delightful (including fantastic goat dishes). I come from across Sydney to eat here. If you have any queries regarding the food the management are happy to advise. The prices are super reasonable. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.
Janani, offers near 5 star food in 3 star décor at 2 star prices. Everyone i have dragged here returns.

Janani’s is a Srilankan restaurant and although quite similar to Indian cuisine, I found it distinctly different. The Dosa’s are quite good but the accompaniments offered along with it, were a bit too Srilankan for my liking. However, the string hoppers are quite light and enjoyable. Also if you’re looking for Vegetarian options, you’re in luck. There is plenty of Vegetarian options to choose from.
The service could improve though. It’s not that they are rude or mean, it’s just they are slightly less professional. Also I personally don’t like stainless steel utensils and find them quite noisy and this place uses only stainless steel for everything, from plates, to cutlery and even drinking tumblers.
I am not trying to discourage you from going there. My average rating is purely biased by my Indian tastebuds and dislike for noisy metals.
