Housed in an original tea room, this is a nice place far away from everything which is probably its biggest problem, if it were in Lilydale or Belgrave you could stop by as you went into the Yarra Valley or before going on Puffing Billy — but who goes to Hurstbridge? Its a proper bakery making their own cakes, tarts, and pies, not simply a café getting them from a plant and then leaving them in the fridge too long like most in the suburbs. I came for the cakes and the servings were quite large. They also do breakfast and make lunches. If it were more centrally located and had other such bakeries to compete with it might be fair graded but given its location its very good.
