One of my favourite late night haunts. Delicious pancakes, lovely staff, and a charming, if rustic, interior. It’s quirky, but the perfect place to go after ice skating on a winters night, and an ideal last stop on a date. The food is reasonably priced, though there are no split bills. The addition of tap water has been more than welcome, but you should really try one of their drinks. Highly recommended.

This place isn’t much to look at. Inside looks like an old Indian restaraunt converted into something else. The waiting staff were friendly and they did really well to deal with the large group that we had there at the time. I love the fact that it is open really late, because sometimes you just have a pancake hankering that you can’t shake. I use the term pancakes very lightly, Try Crepes more like it. Great Crepes though. Try the strawberry and nutela crêpe!

Stokers is a hidden, dark, mysterious pancake lounge that seems hidden away from the rest of the world. The crepes are delicious and there is a wide range of choices. My only concern is that you need to have cash, as they do not take card or split bills and no ATMs in walking distance. Also, there is a hidden sign which requests that you pay at the counter — I didn’t read this and the waiter seemed annoyed that he had to take our payment from our table. Water does not come complimentary and this is clearly noted on the menu signage. Food is great, atmosphere is calming — but the service and intent to satisfy customers is a little off.

What’s with the passive aggressive sign on the menu board? Is providing table water really that laborious? Rude.

Stokers is a unique experience. It’s only open from 8pm till late and it’s the perfect place to stop for a late evening pancake or crêpe. It’s a time warp, walk through the doors and you’re back in the 70’s and it’s worth a visit because of that. If your sense of style is somewhat retro, then Stokers is the place for you. The food isn’t anything special, but the whole experience has that«so bad it’s actually good» feel about it. If you’re looking for something to do one evening with friends, then Stokers is a fun, quirky experience. You never know, you might find yourself returning.

TOPSECRET I was tempted to not review this place as it is my well kept secret«late night not in the mood for a bar» haunt. But to NOT share it would almost be negligent. Plus as a Unilocal ‘Spy’ it is my duty! Stokers is a crêpe saloon open from 8pm til late. Here you will find crepes of both the sweet and savory ilk as well as coffee, tea, and beverages. All are delicious and especially warming on a cold winters night when the fire is warming even the furthermost corners of the lounge. The atmosphere of this place lends itself to comparisons to Saloons or Prohibition Bars with dark wood benches, windows that are permanently blacked by curtains and a old piano in the corner. Time will fly by as you savor both the atmosphere and delightfully thin and hot crepes. Check yourself and the time when glancing at the delightfully quirky clock. This is the place to come for a late night treat in winter or to satisfy any ‘last call’ hunger cravings. The atmosphere and crepes will see you return time and time again. The secretive vibe of Stokers continues when it comes to payment. Cash Only folks. Credit cards leave a paper trail!
