I play here with work friends on a Wednesday night, it’s lots of fun. The staff are friendly, but won’t let you play if you arrive even a little bit late(we’re talking by a couple of minutes here, people). So yeah, they are pretty organised and games run smoothly. Amenities are clean, the refs are cool. Three sets pass quickly!

I was recently asked to fill in for someone in a Indoor Beach Volleyball game. I didn’t know that they played it indoors, but it was a lot of fun. It takes the best bits of beach volleyball and gets rid of a lot of the negatives, like the searing summer sun, rain and lack of facilities. I enjoyed myself. It took a bit to get into the game and dive for the ball, expecting it to hurt, but there is enough sand to break your fall. I enjoyed myself and have put my hand up to play in the team for the next season.

Indoor beach volleyball is a heck of a lot of fun, while volleyball is great, doing it on a beach is so much better because there is no fear of hurting yourself as you land on soft sand, and indoors you can play any time of year. The centre is mostly based around its seasonal league, so you could sign up a team and play weekly, which is a great way to stay on top of fitness as you have more incentive if you are playing on a team than going to the gym. Or if you are having an event there you could hire up the place and have your party create teams. It is just a lot of fun to play, even if you aren’t good you have fun running and diving after the ball, falling into the sand and feel a sense of victory when you get even one point. It makes you feel great, so if you haven’t go and try it out, I am sure you will have a great time!
