Zushi Bento

I was in Joondalup yesterday to bump out from an event, so I thought I’d treat myself and get the teriyaki fish from Zushi Bento, which used to be my absolute lunch favourite when I worked in the area.
Unfortunately it was no where as good as I remember.
The rice was gluggy, the fish’s texture was mushy like mashed potato instead of firm. The batter on the fish was brown and very hard, instead of lightly golden. There also was almost no teriyaki sauce on the fish or rice.

LOVE this place, beautiful food! Sushi is great and the Katsu chicken bentos are fantastic!
I’ve tried katsu bentos at the other stores around my area and none of them are as good as this place. Some places don’t give you the Japanese mayo! Which is sacrilege in my opinion.
It’s a lot of effort driving there and trekking through the shops just for a meal but my gosh is worth it!!!

Really love the sushi here. Go for the Crispy Chicken (Katsu style) sushi or paper rolls for a treat. Teriyaki beef sushi is really good and the vegetarian options are pretty good as well, though you will need to wait a little while so they can make it up fresh for you.
It’s super handy that they are near the entrance so you can duck in quickly while avoiding the fray of the rest of the shopping centre.

Zushi Bento is a little sushi/​japenese store in the Lakeside Shopping Centre Food Court. If you like sushi Zushi Bento has a big range of sush, including some vegetarian options. The sushi is fresh, nothing spectacular or fancy. The staff are super friendly and helpful though. This is a good alternative to the fatty fast food choices

Japanese places serving sushi has become quite popular of late, and it is understandable why. The food, for the most part, is bite-​sized, it is healthier than eating junk food and cold food suits Perth’s weather. Zushi Bento is yet another player on the scene, and are conveniently located within Lakeside Joondalup.
There are two broad choices for selection at Zushi Bento. There is the hot food selection, such as teriyaki chicken and teriyaki fish, and there is the sushi rolls section. The sushi rolls have a nice flavour, although done too thickly — there is too much rice within the rolls. Their hot foods is good, if the teriyaki sauce is a little too weak.
Zushi Bento is a good choice if you are looking for Japanese food in the Joondalup area.

This is where I go for lunch, everyday! I work in Lakeside, and they have a large food courts and a large variety of choices, and three different sushi shops. But it is alway Zushi Bento that I go running to! They ladies that work there know what I want when I turn up. They have to make it up especially, which is really nice of them. They have a few vegetarian options but I am a huge fan of avocado and I dont eat that much so they make up a four pack for me.
It first started when I asked if they had any avocado, and straight away they said they would make it up for me! When I have asked at other sushi shops, its a straight ‘no we don’t have any’.
They sell, samosas and curry puffs, both are really cheap and really, really good!
