Great spot for the kids(and supervising adult) to splash in the creek, climb rocks and ropes etc. It’s different to the rest of Kings Park and worth seeking out. Good times!

Yei-ha!!! I’m environmentally hesitant about certain companies(rio tinto being one of them) but when they are responsible for creating a down to earth(excuse the pun) hub of fun.. . I found myself involuntarily enthralled. This is a place to get down and dirty.. . when I was growing up, I loved digging in the dirt, I would constantly have grazed knees and ripped clothes– to me, that was a direct reflection of the fun I had had. If you are an overprotective, clean freak, sterile or «no fun» parent– do not take your child(/ren?) here.. . it is one messy, wet, adventure waiting to happen all over your child! This is what being a child is all about, exploring, stomping, slipping, climbing, making a mess, falling, getting back up and doing it all again! Spare clothes or no clothes.. .the time to live is now!

Backyards in Perth are getting smaller and smaller. The little area that we do have is normally covered in paving or grass. The local parks have become more and more sanitised with grass and play equipment. The Naturescape park in Kings Park is exactly what kids in Perth needed. There are caves to explore, streams to splash in and viewing towers to climb. Just remember to bring a spare set of clothes, as the kids are encouraged to get up close and personal with nature.

Naturescape is a place to let your kids get dirty, splash around in water, climb trees and have fun. It is hard to believe you are in the middle of Kings Park — no shops, no traffic, no food smells floating around. Just the outdoors and lots of curious children. You must be aware of signage around the area, as there are certain areas where there is no access allowed, or where swimming is not allowed. A good idea is to bring along an extra set of clothings for the children, as they will get very messy and very, very wet. Naturescape is a brilliant idea, so very different to the other play areas in Kings Park.
