Chosen Bean

Friendly atmosphere, great service with awesome menu. Was recommended by a friend and he was right, coffee is better than where I was going.

For a small shopping strip, Mt Gate has a lot on offer café/​eating-​wise.
Chosen Bean is tucked beside the newsagent and a take out shop and is small but sufficient in space. Some of the other cafés at the opposite end of the strip, like Jack’s and Montania operate restaurant style too.
The menu here isn’t massive but they have specials and lovely regular things on it. I come for breakfast now and then and it’s great. It’s a very modern breakfast mein in the sense that they use particular ingredients that are ‘of trend’, giving it more of an inner city Melbourne vibe.

Coster has won awards for his roasts and blends, and you can see why with the selection of amazing beans on display and on the machine! Chosen Bean is a haven in the SE suburbs with stunning coffee as a constantly improving selection of snacks, nibbles and larger eats! Had the smashed peas with pine nuts and parmesan topped with perfectly poached eggs and a flawless flat white while boppy tunes played overhead! Excited to see the new store when it opens just a few doors down in coming weeks!

Great beans, great roast. Just need to learn the difference between a long black and a long macchiato.
