Haven’t been to a sizzler since I was little. I have great memories of the endless pasta, salad and ice cream bar. Being New Year’s Day with a raging hangover, I saw the green sizzler sign approaching as we drove home after holidays. I took it as a sign to pop in and feed my hangover with endless salad bar pleasure, and the cheese toast that comes complimentary. I wish I didn’t… For $ 29.95 + and extra 3.95 for the drinks bar it was such a rip off. The service was dismal and we waited forever for that delicious cheesy bread. I had to ask about three times. Seeing a as it’s mainly self service I don’t see how the staff were that busy… The salad bar was so disappointing, the pasta bar was also pretty horrendous. Glad I went in and had a go but won’t be going back.

Visiting Sizzler is part of our tradition of traveling to Sydney to attend a concert Staff were so polite, a big thing I noticed right away, menu isn’t ‘yuppy’ consists of standard Aussie meals. The taco beef was cold when I went up to the salad bar which to their credit is quite diverse so congrats. The beef didn’t taste authentic at all either which was a shame. For over fourteen dollars a meal, you really only get a mouthful of food. The chips were too salty and my chicken wasn’t great. It tasted like someone had defrosted a chicken nugget and put it in some bread. My company’s steak it such an odd almost burnt taste to it :( The soups were also very runny! Not anything like the soups you get back home. The best parts of the dining experience were the serves, the idea of self-serving and how filling the meal was. The cook seemed to have given up here :(

YAY! I’m a fan because I grew up in Canada(with frequent road trips to the US of A) in the 80s and Sizzler was the place to be. Confession: every time we go to Thailand, we venture to the Sizzler for memory’s sake. It’s $ 25 for the all-you-can-eat salad bar? But $ 29 for the salad bar PLUS a steak? Duh… I went for the steak. Which was DELICIOUS for a mere extra $ 4. So juicy and tender. The salad bar was a hit and miss. The nacho section was kind of gross. The actual salads(caesar, coleslaw, etc) were excellent. I also went for the shrimp and avocado salad which was terrible(surprise). The shrimp had been frozen for god knows how long, it didn’t even taste like shrimp. But this isn’t really a complaint but an observation, after all, how fresh of shrimp can one expect at a $ 25 buffet? The soup and pastas were excellent. Loved the alfredo sauce. Excellent fruit. The best part? Soft serve ice cream with m&m, chocolate chips, and rainbow sprinkles! I felt a kid all over again. Would I return? Probably not for at least a year seeing as it’s not the healthiest food choices. But we had a damn good time while there.

Average food, a bit expensive for what it is. Better places to dine. They do have all you can eat though.
