Dr K T Lau

Dr KT Lau is a long-​serving doctor who has been practicing for the better part of two decades, at least. His practice is still rather old-​fashioned — the medical receptionist still uses a typewriter to type out notes and he writes down all medical notes on yellow cards. He is also one of the rare GPs who still takes walk-​ins [although appointments are preferred and will guarantee an audience] and bulk bills all his patients regardless of their status.
However, it seems the years have either jaded the good doctor, or his touch has slipped. He seems more inclined to dismiss issues on non-​medically sound grounds. For instance, he insisted that I could not have cluster headaches due to being female, and only under duress did he refer me to a neurologist, who took ten minutes to diagnose that I was experiencing cluster headaches. He has also incorporated acupressure into his practice, which is not always effective.
Perhaps it’s time for him to retire, before his touch slips even further.
