What started as casual office chit-chat about how to properly poach an egg quickly led to an intense craving and saw us ditch our pre-made sandwiches and head to Froth and Fodder. I’d not heard of Froth and Fodder before but my co-worker swore they did the best coffee in the area which might not be difficult but boy even if it were they’d hold their own. Food was a little pricey but tasted so good! We all ordered the poached egg with smashed avocado and was complimented perfectly with haloumi, though arguably haloumi goes with everything because haloumi. Staff were nice enough but were the types to make you feel a bit dumb for asking questions, but if you’ve got allergies it’s unavoidable. Gluten-free bread was great, seemed like it could have been made in house but I never checked. Overall the food and coffee were great if a little steep, staff were ok, nothing here nor there, will definitely make it a regular thing in the office.

Wait, are you trying to tell me there is a café behind the Kmart? Being away for a while does impact on what you know! This little one has established it self in Kurralta Park and does a a roaring trade with the weekend crowd with a brunch menu and a selection of smoothies and juices to suit the masses. My last visit was with a friend on a Saturday and the place was packed. Waiting for a table is no major drama as couches are around and its easy enough to start on coffees whilst waiting, but just be prepared if you’re coming here in peak periods. With full table service, staff are under pressure too so service can be on the slow side when the café is full to the brim! As a breakfast lover who doesn’t eat eggs I’m a tad disappointed in the menu variety with my choices coming down to standard ‘sweets for breakfast’ options and on weekends you can’t omit ingredients from menu options unless you’re allergic which is understandable if not a touch frustrating. Most recently I had a breakfast burger and left the egg behind on the plate which was perfectly fine, even if I felt wasteful. Coffee is nice and clean, flat whites come out at the right temperature and are on the mild side when it comes to strength and flavour. Banana smoothies have a nice flavour balance. I need to come here on a weekday to get a good grasp of this place as my previous weekend visits just come up with loud noise and slow service that wan’t quite worth the price. Worth a visit, however maybe not for the vegans in your group at breakfast time(or your non-eggy friends) and maybe not on a weekend.

Had breakfast here today with my little family and it was delicious! Best eggs Benedict I’ve had in a long time and the meal sizes are very generous. The service was great very friendly and welcoming will defiantly be back next fly out day.

Froth & Fodder dragged me in through their Instagram presence… I figured I’d check it out since they liked my pics! After a 20 minute wait on a Sunday morning I was a little shocked at the prices, with the full breakfast being around $ 18. But gosh, the produce is such a fantastic quality and the servings so huge that I quickly forgot about the wait and the price. I honestly didn’t have to eat again for the day, and I hadn’t even finished my breakfast! They were out of a few things on the menu, and forgot my coffee. The room was also really loud. But the service and food quality were outstanding so I’ll be back for a second round.

I have been driving past this place daily on Anzac Hwy for years. Thank you Unilocal Bookmarks for finally venturing off the 3laned beaten path and turn off at a very unexpected place(an ugly shopping centre). Thankfully the place is far enough away from the shopping centre so that retail hell has no impact. Being pretty hungry after a late night this was the perfect place to come. The smashed avocado(see pic) was sensational for this purpose(as well as on the eye) and the accompanying long black was pretty OK as well. Along with fast service a pretty good experience on an early workday morning. Price is not on the cheap end, but at least the quality and service match up. Looks like I might be turning off the well beaten track more often…

I did not know this place existed. Until I became aware. Now, I am so glad I know! Found in a quaint yet rather busy street just a road away from Anzac Highway and behind the Kurralta Park shopping centre, this is a popular spot for brunchers and lunchers on Saturdays(and other days of the week) alike… We were greeted by people eager to help us sit somewhere great, and then ensure we had a coffee to get our brains started for some serious brunchy lunchy choosing. A hip little place with a big atmosphere — perfect for your brunch date, lunch mate, dog walkers, child talkers or cycling meetup. The coffee was SO great, marvellous barista’s on the floor, and the juices are so fresh! The burgers and chips were so yum, it was such a great experience there. The mix of patrons was inclusive of anyone and everyone, which had a magical feel about it. Clearly, when people know they are on a good thing, we stick with it! Ample parking across the road, so you never have to worry about where you should park thy four wheeled beast, this is a fun café with staff who clearly love the job they have!

What a great place in an unexpected location. This place is very good. The menu is creative and modern, the portions good, the service great, and the coffee excellent. Its decorated well, but simple. All round great experience — which is why I keep going back.

The best thing about Kurralta Park by far! Super friendly service in a lovely atmosphere with great food that’s fresh and funky but not at all pretentious. ‘Big ups’ to the guy with the glasses and the Blondie that work the weekends! I doubt I will stay in a Kurralta Park next time I’m in Adelaide because it’s a bit of a hole but I’d make a trip over to have smashed avocado at F&F. At the moment Unilocal is asking me to put some mustard on this review which is funny because I always love having mustard with my brekkies. There was no problem with this and they happily supplied me with extra condiments; seeded and Dijon. That’s about all really. I don’t know how much mustard I can possibly put in without it all turning into a review about mustard. The juices are amazing! Go to Froth and Fodder. Now I’ve apparently taken this review’s pants off. Pretty soon it’ll be naked. I’ll end it here.

Quality little place, Adelaide needs more of these little places. Had me frothing at the quick service and quality breakfast that I had. A few customers of the girl variety provided some nice eye candy for me on a Saturday morning too!

After catching up with girlfriends on a Saturday morning for breaky, I returned with my partner to indulge in their lunch on Sunday. Saturday morning was busy and a little nosy but the vibe was certainly welcoming and had a local feel. My breaky was delightful and well attentive to my dietary requirements. The lunch on Sunday was also well received(a little less busy which made it easier to enjoy the company) but both myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our burgers. For simply coffee drop by, Froth & Fodder would not disappoint — for a casual Sunday breaky it would be a perfect choice. I would recommend and is now a new hangout for my weekend indulgence.

I absolutely love this place! Service is top notch, Sean is super friendly & attentive. I’ve known Sean from working in a number of other venues and is coffee is almost perfect. I’m so glad that Froth & Fodder is en route to my business so I have to make a stop of at least once a week for a coffee. Took a friend for breakfast there this morning and was thoroughly impressed. They’ve just launched their new menu too.

In a little group of shops in Kurralta Park, usually bypassed by locals as they sneak into the back of the Kmart car park, lies a little haven of café goodness called Froth and Fodder. As the name might suggest, there’s nothing ostentatious or showy about it, it builds its appeal around its stripped back interiors(can I get a ‘Heeeeey’ for the hipsters?), well-priced honest food and friendly faces. Anywhere with all day breakfast is a winner in my view, but there are a few other things about Froth and Fodder that have drawn me back at least once a week since I discovered them back in November ’13… So far I, along with an assortment of foodie buddies, have sampled just about the entire breakfast menu, but am yet to sample the lunch offerings. I reckon a serve of poached eggs is a good way to compare café brekkies and Froth and Fodder’s have proved pretty darn reliable. The brekkie burger is a particular crowd pleaser, as are the juices. If you’re not keen on any of the proper menu offerings(what are you, cray cray?), there’s a selection of foccacias, cakes, cookies and tarts in the counter and some Enzo’s sweet treats for the gluten free folk out there. The team at Froth and Fodder are some of the loveliest around. Efficient without compromising on quality, friendly without being overbearing or in-your-face, they’ve made me feel completely at home each time I’ve visited. Pop in regularly enough and the team will be preparing your order as you walk through the door!

It’s not often I venture into the burbs behind Kmart’s car park, but Mortimer St is a little character worth watching fellow Adelaidians. This place(and the currently empty surrounding shops) have all the hallmarks of Colonel Light Gardens’, The Strand, or Croyden’s, Queen St. Froth is full of industrial lighting, balckboard written menus on the wall, raw wooden tables and hand written looking menus. This warm little nook and its eager to please, «we’ll cater to any dietary requirements», menu is a welcome addition to this part of town. Take a 2 minute drive in any direction and you are at a fast food joint. I have eaten here twice and both times the meal hasn’t quite cut it for me but it has still been tasty enough to finish. My poached eggs were overcooked at my first breakfast here and my veggie burger, despite coming in a perfectly crispy ciabatta roll with a well spiced and cooked burger, had far too much tzaziki dressing. The coffee both times has been smashing. It’s incredibly smooth so you will play Oliver and ask for more. The juices are also are delicious and great combos of flavours. Service is lovely, very efficient and friendly and allow you to sit at the table to order. And don’t laugh at Will A’s review about the seats here — I have to admit, the click up and down as you move around on the metal bottom drives me bonkers too! This is a wonderful place to take a friend with a dietary requirement, gluten intolerance or vegan preference and a perfect lunch time treat if you are scouring Anzac Highway for a place that doesn’t ask«would you like fries with that?»

Another occasion where the Unilocal!app has helped me find somewhere great :) Had a few hours to waste in the area and ‘all day breakfast’ caught my attention here! On first walking in I did think ‘this is a bit bare’ but upon looking around I noticed all the touches that softened up the more industrial feel — flowers in vases on the table and a squishy looking couch to the side of the tables being a couple of these. Staff here were great and friendly and it was clear that a lot of the customers were regulars with the staff enquiring about their kids and work. It was a very friendly and casual feeling place. The coffee was highly enjoyable although I would have liked it to be larger. I did pay an extra $ 1 for the larger size but it was still not quite enough for me! My green juice was also really delicious. It was a bit on the dear side though — I feel like $ 7.50 a glass for juice is a bit much! I had smashed avocado and added a side of chorizo, as well as my coffee and green juice. The breakfast serving was very generous with a whole grilled chorizo and two poached eggs and was highly enjoyable. The grilled haloumi was a nice touch too. My eggs were perfectly runny which is always important to me :) I’ll be back to try the lunch offerings here and there was some desserts that looked pretty good too. A nice place for a casual breakfast or coffee — I really did love that coffee!

Froth & Fodder is a pretty cool place, it has a very casual welcoming feel to it. You imediately feel at ease, the staff are very friendly and open. The coffee is good, it’s a real crowd pleaser blend so if you love bold flavours like I do you might be a little disappointed. In essence they are doing a lot of things right, the only down side was the breakfast wasn’t overwhelming. It’s a new establishment and I’m sure they’re still fine-tuning things so I will definitely be back to check in on how things are going.

Rude mannerism. The owners way of taking an order is ‘what do u want’!!! That’s how my experience started and it kept getting worse for the remaining time that I was there. I felt like I was not wanted and a hassle to be waited on. The food was ok. but the service left a bad taste. Won’t be going back there again.

Sadly, it came down to the chairs. I know, it sounds a bit snobbish, even pedantic. But this place would get 5 stars from me if they would just put cushions or something on those metal chairs! Really, that’s a bit of an unfair introduction to such a wonderful little place to eat. The coffee is wonderful, and if you’re up for it, the hamburger is fantastic. I had an iced coffee as «dessert» and it was great as well, high quality vanilla ice cream and beautiful coffee. it was made a bit«dark»(strong) which is how I prefer it and made for a wonderful compliment to the burger. Produce was fresh and really enjoyable, none of us could find a place when it came to the food or drinks to criticize. I look forward to going back now that we have friends in the area. And look out for the couch, after a big lunch on the weekend, it’s tempting to order another coffee and lay back and read the paper. And forget everything else that you needed to do during the day. The décor is a bit«industrial chic» which almost comes off as trying to hard in the case of the menu, but the old multi-filament antique lightbulbs that are strung along the ceiling counteract that nicely. The prices were fair for the high quality of food and drink we got, and there’s a big parking lot across the street so if you’re not walking you’re still in luck.
