The service was quick and friendly, the pasta sauce itself was tasty, and the menu options looked good — some old favourites and some interesting and different flavour combinations.
The actual pasta in my meal (fettuccine) was so incredibly overcooked that it was disintegrating as I mixed the parmesan through. The pasta was flavourless and textureless when I expected (from a place called The Pasta Merchant) that it would be the star of the show. It didn’t look or taste like egg pasta that I’d make at home. It didn’t even look like quality supermarket pasta. I was very disappointed.
They clearly do a roaring trade in takeaways, and my family loves this place, so I’ll give it the benefit of doubt — I’ll probably be back and I hope I have a better pasta experience next time.
